Family friendly - Needs improved servicePosted Jul 11, 2014
Overall - great place. Inconsistent services made visit somewhat challenging - too much time spent at front desk reminding staff about things forgotten, missed, etc. None of it was a deal breaker, but I expect more from the Omni brand if they want to be "Ritz-Carlton Jr.". Staff attentive to the oversights (turndown service missed consistently, tram shuttles incredibly SLOW to name 2), but it needs to be better for the price. Cant beat the views, options for activities, or the secluded location. Again - none awful to not recommend this great place - but the service must get more consistent.

Awesome hotel!Posted Jul 7, 2014
My wife and I found this hotel by chance. We were searching for a place to go to for July 4th. The ocean view is incredible. The pools were very nice. We were very fond of the wait staff around the the pool. The food was very good too. The only issue, not the hotel's fault, is there is horrible cell reception.

4th of July WeekendPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Restaurants on the premises and all the activities.
Cons: Early check-in
Location: Historic District
The check-in process was a little bumpy due to it being so busy and our room was not available at 3:00pm, but aside from that we had a great time. The room was a little pricey, but we enjoyed it all the same.

We were given the furthest room in the hotel from all the lobby area, pool..etc it's a long walk to get to the room and you could see dirty laundry bags and dining tables for room food service in the hallway. The pool area was the nicest in the hotel. The rooms are not very clean with stains on the towels and the bed sheets not smelling fresh. The hotel was expensive for the services you get. We booked at Oceanside restaurant for the 4th of July dinner. The food was cold and tasteless. I have to say that staff were all very friendly. Overall I would rate the hotel fair

Get away from it all, right here in the US.Posted Jun 24, 2014
Pros: Variety of things to do.
Location: Lots to do nearby, both on location and a short drive to to Fernandina Beach (visit Le Clos, a great french dinner place).
We had a great time at the hotel. Food, pool, beach, activities, were all top notch. We were there for 5 nights and enjoyed the spa, segway tour, kayak, horseback riding, and bicycles. Service was great and I didn't have that pressure to tip everyone that held a door for you like when you go to the Ritz. Just a great place to get away and still have the convenience of traveling to the local grocery or target if you needed something. Close to Jacksonville airport, which is small and convenient.

Can't Wait To ReturnPosted Jun 17, 2014
Location: The resort had everything on sight, shopping, food, entertainment. Perfect!
This was our first trip to Amelia Island and I have to say, it was by far one of the best. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and always willing to help. It's a very family friendly resort but still felt elegant and romantic. We enjoyed dinner and a movie by the pool on Friday evening and mini golf on Saturday. The hotel grounds and room were always very clean. Thanks Omni Amelia Plantation for a fabulous weekend. Can't wait to return!!

Nice Resort with a beautiful beachPosted Jun 7, 2014
Pros: Best things - location, serenity, many things to do
Location: The town of Fernandina is a great place to stroll and visit quaint shops, see beautiful architecture, and enjoy delicious meals.
This is a beautiful place to stay on Amelia Island. We wound up in one of he rooms that had not been recently remodeled; however, it was still large, comfortable, and clean. Our balcony overlooked the golf course and the beach. The pools are nice and we especially appreciated the separation of adult and children pools. If you are there on the weekend, make sure you take advantage of the shrimp boil at Marche Burette.

Great choice for Mother's Day/Birthday Weekend!Posted May 14, 2014
Pros: We were appreciative of how large the adult pool was and that there was a separate pool/play area for the children.
Cons: Don't Disturb hangar not in room. Mr Martin told housekeeper service not needed, yet moments later after a quick knock maid entered and he was naked!!
I had always wanted to go to Amelia Island and so I chose to come here for my Birthday/Mother's Day weekend. Our accountant in Naples, who is building a house nearby, highly recommended The Omni and we were not disappointed. The staff were all so welcoming and accommodating, beginning with our car valet Tommy and Scott who brought up our luggage. Their friendliness made us feel right at home and well taken care of right from the start. Our first day we swam in the pool and walked on the beach. Later that night upon recommendation from staff, we dined at The Verandah. We had a superb dinner from appetizer to dessert and our server was exemplary. Afterwards we drove into town to explore and were pleased to find it a short distance from the hotel. The next day we had a wonderful lunch on the patio of Marche' Burette and then a stroll around the surrounding shops. I was delighted to find The Plantation Shops were just minutes down the street, as I had looked forward to going there. That night a storm was brewing so we had a great dinner sent up through room service and the it was set up in front of the sliding doors so we could still watch the clouds over the ocean. The next morning the sun was shining and we sat on the patio of Sunrise Cafe and indulged in the best breakfast buffet ever! Even though our stay was brief we felt like it had been so much longer with all that we did. It was an immensely, pleasurable experience and we can't wait to return.
