Nice hotel! Service not great.

Posted Jul 25, 2015
No welcome packet on arrival to let us know what was happening and when. Room not prepared properly. Inadequate service throughout our stay. Garbage not removed daily. Had to ask for many things that should have been in the room, like clean towels, and bedding for the pullout since it was clear that we had 3 guests. WiFi did not work until I complained, then was referred to wireless carrier.

Nice hotel, convenient to the beach.

Posted Jul 11, 2015
Pros: location, size and standard of room - very nice. Pet friendly. Nice breakfast.
Location: near the beach, shopping. A drive to downtown. Be sure to visit La Mancha nearby - heard fantastic Spanish guitar music on Sunday Eve.
I was there to spend time at the local hospital, but the location, room and amenities made my stay very nice.

Very Accommodating and Pet Friendly!

Posted Jun 19, 2015
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our two day stay at the Residence Inn by Marriott. Everyone was very friendly, helpful and treated our pet like she was one of the family, which she totally is! The layout of the studio room was perfect for the two (and a half) of us. We enjoyed it so much we ate in our suite instead of eating out for lunch and dinner. They had a very good hot breakfast buffet and went out of their way to prepare us a bowl of grits when I asked if they had them. Publix was just down the street and had a Japanese Sushi chef preparing fresh sushi, so we stocked up on it along with getting some fresh steamed shrimp and enjoyed an easy, hassle-free dinner in our room, which btw, had dishes, flatware, a toaster, coffee maker, two eye stove top, microwave oven, good size refrigerator and even pots and pans, plus all the other kitchen tools you would need to prepare a full meal. There was even a can opener which we needed for our dog's food .. I was very happy to see that! Ft. Cinch is not far from the Residence along with public beach access, but if you like art galleries, cafes and shopping, it's all close by in downtown Fernendina. We loved our short stay so much we can't wait to go back and see all the friendly people at the Residence Inn by Marriott that made us feel "at home" along with our dog as well.

Schönes Hotel am Rand

Posted May 28, 2015
Nettes Personal. Am Front Desk arbeitet u. a. eine Deutsche. Hat uns gleich viele Tipps für die Insel gegeben.

Nice and close to beach

What a nice hotel! It's about a 10 minute walk from the beach. Great staff. Great breakfast buffet. Free shuttle transportation anywhere on the island -- upon request. I had a great time. Thank you!

Einfach rundum alles perfekt. Empfang top

Posted May 16, 2015
Pros: Personal, zimmerausstattung, Komfort, Service, Ort, ...ich könnte problemlos fortfahren.
Cons: Alles bestens
Location: Strandurlaub ist zu empfehlen. Direkte Nähe zum Strand. Sehr ruhige Umgebung.

Close to beach but no bar, no lunch or dinner

Posted May 14, 2015
Pros: Breakfast buffet and close to beach.
Cons: Quality control on room cleaning inadequate. Needs a bar/social area - current provision very inadequate.
Location: Amelia Island is a great place and the beach near the hotel is one of the best I've been to. Can hire parasol/chairs for beach from a nearby shop.
OK for a short stay but there is no bar or adequate social area in the hotel, although there is a small pool area. No balconies. No clothes washing machine in suites. Inadequate supply of dishes/pans/cutlery etc. Breakfast buffet very good. Rooms cleaned everyday, but still plenty of dust around and cleaner usually missed something each day e.g. replacing tissues, dishwasher detergent, shampoos, forgot to take towel from floor. Short walk to a great beach. No room service. No place in hotel for lunch/dinner. A short stay place - a couple of nights is enough! - that places more emphasis on catering for conferences, rather than tourists.
