Beautifully remodeled, SO clean, on the beach

Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: Fresh and free of sand on the floors!
Cons: Maybe a shuttle to downtown?
Location: The location couldn't have been better. For a small community, it is rich in history, and taking the trolley around town is worth the money.
We were so pleasantly surprised at how clean this remodeled hotel is. Also having a chef prepare a great hot breakfast was wonderful. Small pool between tall buildings, but with the beach just steps away, we were fine with that. Our bathroom was very small; not sure if other rooms are larger. Will ask next time. We will most definitely go back!

Excellent beach front location

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: Clean, friendly staff and the breakfast was excellent
Cons: Size of the closet, I mean room.
Location: Great location especially if you like the beach. Easy ride into the downtown section. Shrimp festival was excellent
Great location. Clean and one of the best breakfast deals at a hotel. Very disappointed with the size of the room. We travel a lot and have stayed in many different size and shapes of hotels. I must say, our room was smaller than most of the cruise ship rooms we have been in. Don't know if all the rooms in this hotel are the same size, but if so, you may want to reconsider your choice of hotels. Staff was very nice, lobby was clean and the overall hotel itself was nice. Room wasn't what we expected.

Small but Lovely Hotel

Posted May 4, 2015
Pros: I liked everything about this inn/hotel. Its in a great location next to the beach and close to downtown restaurants and shops. Alot of things to do
Cons: The parking could be improved, but they do not have much space to do it.
Location: The location is next to the beach, shops and restaurants nearby. I enjoyed going to the Fort and the Florida state parks, a very pretty area.
This is a small hotel/inn right next to the beach. You can tell that it has been renovated since it has a very new feel to it. The staff is wonderful and very helpful, and they serve an excellent breakfast. It was a very comfortable place for me since I traveled alone, and it was so nice to meet other guests staying at the inn. I would go back there again.

Nice hotel on the beach.

Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: The hotel was very clean. About 5 minutes from downtown Amelia Island historic district.
Cons: The room we stayed in was called a parlor room. It was very small. I had to crawl to the bottom of the bed to get out. It was up against the wall.
Stayed here 1 night on our way to Savannah. Breakfast was cooked to order! Staff was very nice.

Nice clean hotel with helpful staff

Very clean facility - the only drawback is that the rooms are small. However, bed was comfortable, refrigerator was good size, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Located on the beach.

Well worth it!

Posted Apr 12, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Desk in room
Location: Very little, need to drive almost everywhere
Excellent vacation! We stayed 5 nights. The first night was in room 304, a VERY small but cozy room, then we moved to 322, which was a suite with ocean view. Very comfy, only thing I would suggest is a small desk to use your laptop at. Steps to a gorgeous beach, only issue there is the parking area directly next to the hotel is a public beach parking area, so the beach does get crowded around the hotel. The restaurant, Sandy Bottoms is ok, we ate there three times but had to wait over an hour for our food as they said they were busy, but plenty of waiters and waitresses, just not enough cooks I guess. Food portions were also small for the price. Loved the staff at the hotel, Pete the breakfast chef and Jordan at the counter were excellent! Will definitely be back next year! Loved it.

Lovely room and location but thin walls

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Insulation/noise reduction
Location: Ate dinner at Slider's Seaside Grill. Amazing food at good prices, seating on beach, playground to entertain kids, and great music. Great atmosphere.
Staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Room was spotless, updated, refreshing. Balcony was a bit small. Bed was comfortable and pull-out couch was decent. Breakfast was delicious. Only problem we had was in the middle of the night it was very noisy. During the evening I noticed I could hear another lady in a room next door reprimanding her children (but I also have young children so could sympathize), but around 11pm there was noise from the pool which is fine if people want to swim at night, but maybe some noise blocking windows would help. and then around 1am, there was a horrible racket going on above our room (we were on the 3rd floor, so above us was the roof terrace). Lots of loud footsteps and dragging chairs around and could hear some talking and laughter. My daughters are 2 and 4 so they go to bed at 9 and wake up at 7am, so being woken up at 1am is not very pleasant for me, as it sometimes means I have to stay awake and help others go back to bed before I can. This would be the perfect vacation destination if the rooms were a little better insulated and noise protected, as everything else about our stay was perfect.
