Great place to relaxPosted Jan 2, 2014
Pros: location, privacy, hosts
Cons: Furniture, game room, carpeting
Location: only 7 miles from the nearest town which features some shopping and taverns with local brews
Dave and Terry were wonderful hosts. They made a huge breakfast for our family with some of the fresh eggs from their chickens and Dave shared some of his home-made maple syrup. The layout of the home was a little awkward but very spacious, beds were comfortable but some of the furniture is dated. I think once the remodeling is finished the place will be an absolute gem. Game room is fun although the equipment once again is a bit dated. Overall though, fantastic place to stay and I would do it again.

A Wonderful SurprisePosted Nov 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were on an autumn leaf tour. We had no idea what to expect at the Domaine. House. We received a warm and friendly welcome from our hosts. We had a very nice bedroom, clean bathroom with plenty of hot water, and a living room. We were out in the country. It was chilly outside but it was warm inside. We slept well. Breakfast was outstanding! The first morning we had French toast with their oun maple syrup, ham and fresh eggs which they had gathered earlier that morning from their hens. The Dumaine family was very helpful. They helped us make our plans for the day. I'm not sure when we'll have the opportunity to return to Vermont, but when we do, you can be sure we will return to the Dumaine House.

Very enjoyable visit!Posted Oct 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a wonderful time. Our room was a tad small, but we were able to enjoy a sitting area outside our room which featured a tv and fireplace and that certainly made up for the room size. Our host Terrie was very nice and helped us with some of our sight-seeing plans. She also made a HUGE full breakfast each morning, which was delicious. The property is gorgeous at the foot of the mountains, and Jacksonville is very driveable to Brattleboro, Putney and Bennington. I would highly recommend The Dumain House to friends and fellow travelers.

Bonne surprisePosted Apr 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
