Overall Nice Place

Posted Aug 5, 2014
The pictures and descriptions are a little misleading. With the Sofa Bed pulled out there is no room to walk around one side of the bed. I understand the concept of a sofa bed but a 1.5" thick mattress leaves a little to be desired. Very friendly staff with clean rooms and common areas. The Queen with sofa bed should be avoided. Get a room with two queens if you have more than 2 people in your party. Thankfully my daughter and her two infants used the sofa bed because I would not be able to move if I slept on it.

Summer vacation

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Non-smoking (I thought)
Cons: Completely non smoking environment
Location: several hotels and restaurants in area 10 minute drive into town
We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon, checked in okay Got to our room Which I was expecting a suite with separate sleeping and sitting areas only to find that the room had a full size kitchen area and the bed and sofa next to each other. This made for uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. We went to the pool and found some one smoking at the pool side. I asked for another set of towels because we had 4 people in our group and only 3 towels in the room and the staff was a bit rude about supplying them.

Decent hotel for the money

Posted Jul 7, 2014
The hotel room was nice enough if it would have been just my husband and myself but we went with another couple who stayed with us and had the couch bed they said it awful they didn't get any sleep. It was a pretty small room to so we were feet to feet when we pulled the bed out. The breakfast was good considering most hotels have gone away free breakfast.

Dear Elizabeth, Thank you for your comments! I know it is a tight fit when the sofa sleeper is in use. Our rooms are classified as "Suites," because they are slightly larger than a standard hotel room. We also offer One-, and Two- Bedroom Suites, where the bedrooms are separate from the living areas. Please come back and see us when your travels bring you back to the Jacksonville area.

Overpriced & Disappointing

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything - considering this is a Marriott, it needs a lot of work in the rooms, staff training etc.
We booked last minute, as we were on the road. The room was very overpriced for the size - one small, cramped studio with a king bed; sheets didn't fit the bed and were ripped! Room was very small and cramped. Paper thin walls so we could hear when people used the bathroom; occupants either side kept us awake until 4am with talking & partying- we could hear through the walls! Staff were rude and insolent when we asked if there had been a party in the hotel. 'Manager' arrived at front desk in filthy apron, when we checked out early and asked for paperwork to close our account. Very indolent and not at all communicative.

Thank you for making me aware of your stay at TownePlace Suites Jacksonville. We would have gladly asked the guests beside you to quiet down, had you notified us. Also, during your stay, several employees were called away, which left us short staffed in Housekeeping and Breakfast. My apologies for the inconvenience you experienced.

Stayed one night, wish it was more

Posted May 5, 2014
Pros: The modern furnished room was very nice.
Cons: Definitely the breakfast bar. After staying at other chains that offer more hearty breakfast bars, this one definitely left something to be desired.
Location: The location was on on kind of a side street, but once you saw the hotel, you saw a bunch of other hotels, so I assume they were there for a reason.
I recently stayed at this hotel for just one night, but man, I wish it was longer. The rooms were very up to date. We had an efficiency room which came stocked with plates, silverware, cups, coffee maker, fridge, everything you'd need for a nice minivacation. The hotel staff was pleasant and were very helpful, everything was great. The "breakfast" did lack a little bit, but it was enough to fill you up.
