Very nice hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: It had was nestled away in an oak grove. It felt secluded, but it had necessary amenities, and the beach were close by.
We stayed at this hotel for the UT vs Iowa bowl game in 2015. The room was very nicely decorated. The settings of the rooms were great nestled in these large oak trees and tennis courts. The staff was very helpful and courteous.

Disappointed

Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: I like the omini but it was sold out so we had to stay in villa.
Ac did not work and no one came to clean our room during our stay. Someone had left a container of butter outside front door ( not us) and it remained there until we left.

We enjoyed our time there.

Had lots of fun. Only problem was there weren't many places to eat and everything closed at 6 pm.

First room had bugs

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: The only thing we enjoyed was the family campfire and smores out on the beach. Pools at Omni hotel looked amazing. Nothing great about villas.
Cons: Staff timeliness and interest in customers, eliminate bugs from rooms, updates/repairs to villas (they don't even look like part of this resort).
The Omni hotel looks amazing and all of the amenities really happen at the Omni hotel. But not knowing anything about the area, I booked one of the Villas instead. Room seemed fine until we got ready for bed and when I started moving pillows around I found a bug on one. I started checking the rest of the bed and found 2 more bugs in that bed and then found a bug in the other bed also. Called the front desk and had to speak with 3 different people before anyone would address my concerns, not to mention sit on hold for over 15 min. They finally managed to move us to another room about 45 min later (which is a huge deal when you're trying to get a 2 and 4yr old to bed at a reasonable hour). The new room looked much cleaner, more updated, and most importantly no bugs. When we checked out, the staff were not even interested in the pictures we had taken of the bugs to show them what they were, and they offered us no compensation for the trouble that we went through. It's amazing they can charge so much money for one night to stay here and I would have been better off staying at the Days Inn for a third of that price. They don't even offer complimentary breakfast. Seaside Amelia on our way home was much better.

So many amenities and activities

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Excellent location. Clean, well managed facilities. Lots of options for everything from activities to dining.
Cons: We were a little disappointed with the classes we did end up taking. And some of the food and add-on activities seemed over priced.
Location: Great beach, pools, hiking trails, historic district with excellent shopping and dining.
We chose this resort because of the different activities it offered. But with the excellent amenities like the pools and beautiful beaches we only had time for a couple of the activities and classes. We are looking forward to going back next year to explore new things.

nice place with minor concerns

Posted Mar 15, 2015
I didn't realize that I would not have daily cleaning without an additional cost which was okay except there weren't enough towels or coffee to last but they did bring more when I called. Also the tv didn't work. They attempted to fix problem and did offer to move us. Can't say enough about how wonderful the entire staff was. Would stay again

Not great for kids during February break.....

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Facilities were great -- the outdoor pool area is beautiful.
Cons: More activities for children during school vacation week.
Location: There are many restaurants, golf, and tennis on the plantation itself. Downtown Fernandina is a ten minute ride and is very quaint with shops etc....
The property was beautiful, however, we were there during school vacation week and there was very little to do for our children as the weather was not warm. They only put the bocce/gaming equipment out on weekends, ping pong was not available during the week etc... We paid a "resort fee" of $40 per day and I am not sure for what -- we still had to pay $48 for our family to play mini golf on the property. I am not sure what is included in the resort fee but I do not believe it is very much. I just wish there were more organized activities for the kids.
