I got into town early and family wasn't ready to receive me and I couldn't reach critical people. I got on my phone and remembered that I had stayed the year before (when I didn't want everyone knowing that I was in town. .. another story) and who is there to meet amd check me in but Mary and Joseph (Great team!!!) Terrific experience.

Everything about this Inn shows that mgmt. and staff take pride in their property, their jobs, and their patrons! Most impressive. All the little touches are there to give a sense that the visited is special to the staff. Marriott should be proud. Will stay there whenever we're traveling through and recommend to others.

Because our flight was changed due to an impending storm, we arrived earlier than planned and there was a minor issue with our Expedia reservation. Ana at the front desk put our needs ahead of everything else and got us sent to our room and she handled the issue on the phone with Expedia so we could get settled. We were very grateful for her kindness. Each time we had to visit the front desk, everyone was very friendly. We also were impressed with the employee that was working the breakfast area each morning. She always greeted us with a smile and cheerful attitude and was very accommodating.

I had a small issue at check-in, somehow I was double booked. Hotel staff and Expedia were both cooperative and efficient at helping me resolve the issue. The room was clean, comfortable, and suited my needs very well. Although there is no food at the hotel, there are various choices of cuisine within a very short distance, and the room has a very adequate kitchenette. The cupboard, a small convenience shop in the hotel, has a variety of food offerings as well as personal care items at moderate prices. The "honor system" policy at the cupboard makes it easy to pick up basic needs. If I find myself looking for accommodation in Jacksonville's Southside area again I will definitely book at the Candlewood.

No other can compare with the consistent service. I have no complaints. The only thing is for the cleaners to offer extra towels or fresh linens for guest who are staying over 2 nights. They could use a more attractive food service instead of a small unattended store for a tab which is too trusting without food room assistance. Overall workers contribute to this business for the customers.

"Hotel just down the road from my young grandsons"
This is the 2nd year I have stayed at this hotel to visit my young grandsons. I was so pleased with this hotel that I did not consider any other. The staff are friendly, my room was spotless, and the hotel is accessible to highways.
Unfortunately, I sleep in too late to make it for the free breakfast, even though it is available until 9:30. The bed was excellent...so good in fact that my usual back pain went away. My only problem was that I could not shut of the alarm on my final morning. I had to unplug it. No big deal. The price was reasonable.
