“Warm and friendly with charm and character.”

This hotel was a delight from the moment that we arrived (very late) to the morning that we reluctantly had to leave. The beauty of the exterior continued inside throughout the building and it really seemed that we were living in a palace. Staff were helpful and attentive, food was very enjoyable, and everything was very good value for money. The rooms were large and comfortable and well-equipped and everything worked properly. This hotel provides an excellent standard of service and comfort at a very reasonable price and we highly recommend it.

“Much better than expected”

From the variety of reviews I had read about this hotel (from Fairy Tale to nightmare), I did not quite know what to expect. I have to say that I was not disappointed at all: the bedroom was very large with a black marble bathroom, everything was obviously quite new and well-maintained. The staff was attentive, especially on the rooftop restaurant, and the food excellent value for money. The management wasn't too pushy trying to sell you tours, which can be a real plus when you are hassled by touts all day long.

“Perfect for Families”

My wife and I, along with 3 young children stayed here for 1 night in December 2010. After traveling all day, this place was just what the doctor ordered. The restaurant was very good and the room was extremely comfortable (we especially enjoyed the strong hot shower!). They provide a complimentary continental breakfast buffet every morning that is excellent. For the money, this place can't be beat. Highly recommended!

“A Gem in Jaipur”

The Umaid Mahal in Jaipur is located in an older building that has been reconstructed as a traditional palace. The feeling conveyed to the visitor is that of being a guest in an Indian palace. This hotel is not for one that wants to an International hotel. Unlike an International hotel, the price is midrange, the staff friendly, courteous and helpful and charges (such as internet access, breakfast) included in the one nightly price. The hotel can arrange for drivers who will provide the best of service at fixed city rates. I highly recommend this gem of Jaipur to those who want to partake of the best of Indian ambiance.

“Convenient and comfortable”

The hotel was quiet, well-cared for, and with a good roof-top buffet. The only problem was that the hotel did not provide confirmation in advance, though I phoned from Delhi and confirmed prior to traveling to Jaipur.

“Impressive, Spotless,a real treat.”

The Hotel was almost perfect. Room was excellent, spotless. The bathroom was great, hot shower and very clean. The breakfast was outstanding. Great location, nice and quiet at night. Only one negative, the front desk staff would rather talk on their mobile or to each other........they were third rate and the hotel was first rate!!!! Would recommend this hotel as agreat break from the outside world.

“Umaid Mahal Hotel, Jaipur”

This is a great little hotel that deserves more than it's 3 star rating by far. It was better than many 4 star hotels we stayed in. Beautiful decor, excellent, friendly service and good food. Not located near anything of interest but close enough to all the attractions by taxi.

“Awesome and true”

Great hotel for a uniquely Indian experience. The rooms are gorgious, the bathrooms incredible, the food delicious and the decor simply beautiful. Unlike when you stay in a Chain Hotel that brings the western american room to everywhere you travel, here you feel truly "away", without missing any "western" comforts. There were three couples travelling with us. We all loved it! And don't miss the Yoga lessons in the rooftop at sunrise!

“Lovely little hotel on outskirts of Jaipur so in quiet area. Excellent service, lovely rooms.”

Modern hotel but done up in traditional style. Located in suburbs of Jaipur but about 10 mins from the centre. Nice big rooms with air conditioning and fans. Restaurant and bar downstairs and lovely rooftop restaurant where they serve breakfast. Staff all very helpful and polite. Very small pool - more of a plunge pool and located next to restaurant so not ideal. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

“We loved it.”

Umaid Mahal was an excellent bit of peace in the middle of one of the most hyper-stimulating cities on earth. The staff was very friendly and attentive, but not overly pushy. The room was spacious and clean. I highly recommend the restaurant on the roof, too- great food and a wonderful ambiance.
