Best Hotel Near Lucy Festival

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Convenience to downtown......and the great staff
Cons: Size of dining room----but don't despair !! Destiny told us that before next year, the dining room will be enlarged !! YAY!
The purpose of our stay at Best Western, Jamestown NY, was for the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival. This hotel is centrally located to all festivities and within walking distance for anyone to all downtown events. I can't rave enough about the front desk staff who were not only there for helping with bags, but for any other needs we had...from helping with internet stuff, providing room needs when necessary, and generally "going the distance to make us feel welcome." By the time we left, we felt as though we had made new friends at the hotel. They even expressed that they were sorry to see us leave. Awwwwwww. The breakfast each morning was simple but good and provided a variety of food choices. I am anticipating booking at this hotel for next year's Lucy event as soon as I am able. The housekeeping staff right there, too. An overpowering YES! YES! YES!

Pros: Close to family and friends in the area. clean, comfortable.
Cons: Some of the staff could be more available and friendly to their customers. Gave them a 4.. could have been a 3 or a 5... so compromised.
Room was comfortable. Roll away bed was there as we had requested. Had to ask for extra towels each day. they did not replenish the coffee for the coffee maker in the room. Went down to the lobby for coffee. Had to ask those at the front desk to make fresh coffee several times. Either the coffee was cold or containers were empty.. but the coffee was good.

On The Ball

Posted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: The staff made us feel like family. Friendly, attentive and went the extra mile. During a storm they got soaked helping us bring packages in.
Cons: The pool had been repaired but was still very cold. The next service to the pool will be done, hopefully by pool companies owner.
Location: The hotel is within walking distance of the Luci-Desi and DesiLou Museum's, Fenton Museum and Erie RR Station and several restaurants.
Everything was so enjoyable, we stayed two extra days. We observed continuious attention to detail and improvements during our stay. Benches were painted, weeds in the parking lot were dealt with. Breakfast daily was great. The staff was outstanding. Beds were comfy with lots of pillows. Perfect location.

OK stay

Posted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Breakfast was decent, seemed clean enough
Cons: Beds
Location: Downtown but didn't seem to be much around, did not venture out as got my meal in Falconer at Tasta Pizza and just went to the room - that place rules
Only one night quick stay for some work, the beds were bit stiffer than I prefer and slept maybe 2-3 hours because of it. AC worked, fan worked, the breakfast wasn't bad but basics which is fine. Overall room was clean and not bad though probably stay at usual place I stay in Jamestown next time around mostly because this one was farther away, more expensive, and the beds. When going to a website for work it was blocked as adult, which is nonsense, but first time in thousands of hotel stays ever seen a hotel block sites on its server, very weird. Hockey it's right across the street, baseball best bet is the Red Roof in Falconer.

Visit Jamestown!

Staff was very helpful. Also a nice restaurant about a half block away. Shawbuck's. Good food and fun staff there too. We would definitely go back to both places.

Nice hotel, ghost town

Had a decent stay but there's really nothing to do in this town. It's like house of wax.

close to jamestown ice arena

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Cons: smell of the rooms
the hotel was okay but a little pricey for the quality of the room; the room smelled like either cat pee or musty/mildewy smell....the continental breakfast was great!!! the staff were nice!!! the hotel was right across the street from the ice arena where we had attended event.
