A dishonest hotel in the land of Maa Vaishnodevi

Pros: The free shuttle was good and the driver was friendly. The artificial waterfall added to the ambiance. The hotel has a generator backup.
Cons: The hotel has to be more honest and provide services that are written on the customer's e-mail confirmation letter.
Location: Location of the hotel - Not on the main road but equidistant from the Katra helipad and Ban Ganga checkpost. Market at walking distance.
I had booked this hotel from Canada through Expedia website.The hotel showed free wireless internet network, free breakfast, free parking and a free shuttle at the time of booking. I booked a room that showed two double beds as I was travelling with my two kids. On checking in at the hotel, they gave me a room that had just one double bed. On asking they replied that a double bed is actually made up of two beds therefore they have given us two beds as booked. On asking about the wireless internet, the hotel staff informed that they would switch it on at 9:00 am. They did not even talk about a surcharge for wireless internet. I waited, but the wireless internet never got turned on during the entire day or night. On my hotel booking confirmation it said free continental breakfast. However, when I actually asked them for the "free" continental breakfast, the hotel staff said they had not received this information and therefore they will not provide free breakfast. I told them that I am going to give a bad review about the hotel, but they did not care. The hotel is pretty expensive for both people living in India and abroad. At the same price it would be better to stay in another hotel in Katra than to waste money here.

Nice But Customer Care Needs Improvement

Pros: Location and Food uis good.
Cons: Customer Service is bad.
Location: We went to Vaishno Devi shrine. It is close by and hotel arranged shuttle to drop us there.
My stay was for one night. Overall experience was okay except that staff at front desk seems not trained and empowered. They depend on the manager even for small queries and manager is not accessible most of the time. Before reaching the hotel I tried to confirm my booking over phone but was unsuccessful. I tried calling many times between 9 am and 11am local time. The reception staff could not confirm the booking and manager was not available. To process payment hotel is not equipped to handle Visa payment and nor could they help with currency conversion. This is not expected of a hotel listing for business on international web sites.

room blankets dirty

don't over-expect. Dirty blankets for extra bed; bathroom shower area wasn't separate. No working shower but buckets were provided. If someone showers, the whole bathroom was wet.

A good place to stay over

It was overall a comfortable stay considering a one night stay at a religious place in India. The breakfast served at theie in house restaurant is good. The rooms need to be given a little more tidy look. The furniture in the rooms is old. But still, overall satisfied.

Hotel Jai Ma Inn

This is the worst experience of my life in a stay that too while one is on a pilgrimage with family. The rooms for which we booked were supposed to be premium rooms did not even have an ac. Service is very lousy. Looks like they have no dearth of business. Overall the attitude of the staff at the reception was certainly but hospitable. What came out was attitude and arrogance. Certainly a credible website like yours getting associated with such dubious hotels does give a great feeling.

bad experience

Cons: rooms
Location: close to main market
rooms were below expectation, dirty bedsheets and torn blankets. No hot water in cold weather and no room heater. water was provided in buckets and was dirty. Staff was not helpful and we were not allowed to talk to the manager. not a good place to stay with small kids and family.
