Family Friendly Hotel Aimed at The Middle ClassPosted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: Beds were comfortable and the walls were adequately soundproofed such that neighbors weren't heard. And it has a pool! Included breakfast is a plus.
Cons: The ice machine broke down and took 10 days until it was ultimately replaced. Not good for summertime. Execution of wakeup calls (Grrrrrrr.)
Location: Handy and small Bromma airport is two train stops away. There's a Coop grocery store and a laundry a short walk away. Procure a Stockholm Card!!!
Booked The Welcome Hotel for 17 nights. Upon arrival, was greeted by the owner who offered his personal cell # for my use should I have any questions while in Stockholm. A very generous offer to be sure, but I declined as I felt between the travel guides I had, etc., that I would be okay. Besides, my cell service only works in The States. Owner pointed out he is one of the very last independent hotels in Sweden. Staffer then informed later the owner, after 30 years on the job (and having built the hotel originally), was due to retire in two days and the place would be handed over to his son. My stay was good overall. One problem though was the first wakeup call I requested was completely forgotten about. I had setup with one clerk the night before for a 5am wakeup call the next morning so I could make a 7:40am flight out of nearby Bromma airport for Visby and the Medieval Week celebration going on there. Call never came. I awoke (by some miracle), at 6:21am, got dressed and ran out the door by 6:31am. Had to run from the Sundbyburg train station to Bromma airport and arrived 5 minutes before boarding time. Got back to the hotel that evening and did my best to let the front desk staff know baby girl don't roll that way. Was given a free dinner. Remaining two wakeup calls were executed without a hitch. A word on the hallway carpets: rest assured, they are vacuumed daily. Static electricity and foot traffic are not their friend, making them dirty easily.

A Very Welcoming Hotel !Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: The manner and professionalism of the staff, the breakfast, the convenience of getting into Central Stockholm.
Cons: For the type of hotel, can't find any real fault.
Location: Hotel is a few minutes walk from Barkaby Station where trains take about 15 minutes to reach Stockholm Central.
10 Days in a most beautiful city was made really comfortable by staying at this hotel. Right from the start the hotel staff were friendly, polite and ready to help with any enquiry. The rooms were on the small side, but clean, comfortable and with excellent showers. The breakfast was top class and mainly of the continental variety (hams, cheeses, different varieties of bread, yogurts, cake, fresh veg and fruit, eggs, juices etc.). A great way to start the day. The hotel had a good little gym with free weights, machines, treadmills, rowing machines etc. and also a small swimming pool. There were different lounges which gave guests ample space to socialise and have a beer or wine bought from the bistro bar. The hotel is located conveniently for getting into Stockholm Central (approx. 15 minutes by public transport). Overall a really nice place to use as a base and very highly recommended.

Nice hotel close to the train stationPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Quiet area, nice scenery very good staff .
Cons: Improve door closing-banging sound is very loud and annoing
Location: very close to the commute, has some walking pats and an old cemetery with the church near by.
Nice area for walks and rest. If you interested in shopping there are Swedish outlets near by.

Not very good hotel to stay.Posted Jul 5, 2014
Room is very small. Sweden has very long daylight day during the summer. Yet all the windows in the hotel do not have any thick dark-colored drapery or shade. So the room is pretty bright during the night and I pretty much had a sleepless night. I would recommend they install something on the windows. The free breakfast was pretty good though.

Nice stayPosted Nov 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice room, comfortable bed, good layout. Wall mounted TV with adjustable mount (in business class room), so can adjust to see from bed or sofa. Channel listing is basic, what is common across all Stockholm hotels, nothing more. Feels secure, rooms area card-accessed after 10:00 or some time like that. Food was okay, limited choice but taste and presentation good. It is the location that pulled it down for me, no T-bana, which had more impact than I anticipated. Location and neighbourhood are probably perfectly fine if viewed by other people staying for other purposes.
