Basic to the Bones

I am not picky when I go to hotels, and I do understand that for the price I pay maybe it will not be the best hotel room. Well at the Sun Beach hotel out room was okay, and nothing more than okay. It did the job. We came in in the evening and slept and left in the mornings. But the room was in absolutely horrible condition. I have paid very, very cheap rates for hotels before and have never seen a hotel room in this condition. The furnature was a complete disaster and falling apart, and DIRTY. I didn't want to put my clothes anywhere near it. The fan above the bed was crusted with dust, dirt, and mold. I have no idea why it was never clean. The bathroom was very uncomfortable as well. Very, very dingy hotel. There were absolutely no amenities in the hotel either. I do wish I would have spent the extra 10-20 and gone to a better place. When I think of this hotel it was just dingy. I wish they would have kept the rooms in better conditions and at least clean the mess previous guests have made. The fan above the bed 100% needs to be continuously cleaned. We never turned the fan on in fear that we would be sufficated in a swirling dust pool. Anyways, the good thing about the hotel is the location. The only good thing. The location is actually excellent. 10 minute walking distance to Jeonbang and Cheonjiyeon waterfalls. The limo bus #600 stops 10 feet from the hotel. Many, many restaurants all around and shopping boutiques. I loved the location. The area around the hotel is very safe too. The location is just excellent! I just hope in the future if hotel guests do make a mess, once they check out--- clean the room! Clean the furnature and bathroom. The bed sheets even had some mysterious stains..the sheets were cleaned but stained. Overall, if you won't be spending much time in your room, then it's a good place. If you want to feel decently comfortable, and don't care about location, choose another hotel.

'Ok, if you not going to spend too much time in your room'

It is an avergae hotel. Very niely located. The airport limo bus stop is just outside the hotel. Tourist information is a short walk away. For convenience I think this hotel is awesome. if you looking for romance or something smart , then this is not the place to stay. If you just using the hotel as a rest stop and sleeping place as we did then its fine. Overlall avergae hotel.

The Worst Hotel on Magnificient Jeju Island

Posted Aug 26, 2010
It was a nightmare. Nobody could speak English and I had spent a traumatic 3 nights in the worse hotel ever. What is presented on the website is nothing like the real thing - no restaurants were operational, the rooms smelt bad, broken doors, bad plumbing, non English speaking front desk staff. Worse still, it is nowhere near the beach as the name suggests, just next to the waterfalls, which can be covered by a day tour. I will not recommend this to anyone even if they are extremely desperate.

Awesome

The hotel was great. We got a free upgrade. The front desk spoke English and helped with bus schedules. It is right next to the air port shuttle and close to a nice beach. I would go back.

Good for the price

I selected Sun Beach because it was the cheapest motel in Jeju listed on Expedia, and for the comparitively low price it was a very good deal. Good location, decent and clean room, friendly staff. Typical of mid-level Korean motels. It is a short drive (less than 15 minutes) from many tourist attractions and it is very near the water as well.
