First visit to New York City.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The location which is just across the river from Manhattan and the view of the city from the hotel.
Cons: The hotel restaurant. It was overpriced and the service was mediocre at best. The food there was excellent, however.
Location: Manhattan was just across the Hudson River. No explanation needed; it's New York with all its sights, sounds, and activities.
The room was nicely appointed with a pleasing degree of amenities; however the TV in the living / office section of the hotel room was out of service. The hotel staff stated that they could not solve the issue and blamed it on the cable provider. I noticed on my billing statement that I had been double charged on some ferry tickets sold to me by the hotel staff; the staff removed the charge after I pointed it out. One night I asked to borrow a bottle opener. A maintenance man arrived and waited while I opened some soft drink bottles. The maintenance man took the last bottle that I was about to open and proceeded to demonstrate to me the method of using a door strike plate to remove an old style soft drink cap. Instead, he only partially opened the bottle, breaking the seal enough to spew Sprite onto the hotel room carpet, but not enough to remove the cap. The maintenance man then handed me the bottle, retrieved the bottle opener and walked away. One day, while we were out, the water supply was shut off for water line repairs. A maid had also cleaned our room that day. When we arrived, the bathroom door was closed, the bathroom was full of steam and condensation, and both the bathroom sink and bathtub hot water faucets were found running, full blast. The tub was closed and was nearly overflowing. Apparently, the water supply had been turned back on after the maid cleaned and she left faucets open. We arrived in the nick of time to avert a disaster.

Good overall, but some small shortcoming as below

The bed confortable is too thick and heavy! there's no microwave in the room. Other conditions and service are quite good.

Convenient to water taxi to NYC

Posted Jun 21, 2014
Location: Location is great due to the proximity to Manhattan . Restaurants in the area (2-3) but nothing else.
I paid the extra $20 to have a waterfront view but the AC could not be adjusted so i froze all night. had to get up in the middle of the night to cover it with a towel and put heavy ojects on the towel to hold it down. it blew freezing cold air on me all night. Very disappointed for $400. Should have stayed in Hoboken.

Great Area! As close as New York as you can get!

Pros: Very comfortable and is very close to NY. You can get a free ferry ride to New York City.
Cons: Perhaps having a children friendly activities or area/park. Expanding on your children friendly channels Disney/Disney Jr etc. for rainy/snow days
Location: there is a small plaza with a handful of restaurant. they do have The Chart House an amazing restaurant if you get a change to go on a date.
The view is amazing! My family was able to go to NYC in a skip and a hop.
