Small and friendlyPosted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: It was 20 minutes walk from the centre of St Hellier and near its own beach. There were a lot of restaurants nearby. Access to a regular bus service.
Cons: Facilities in the room were a bit dated, could do with refurbishment. Lop sided drawers, very slow fan and difficult lock on the door.
Location: 10 minutes walk to get to the main shops. Beach nearby with a lido safe swimming area. Several restruants and cafés nearby on sea front. Bus service.
Nice to stay in a guesthouse which is not corporate. The owner was friendly and attentive. She advised us what was available for tourists on Jersey and organised an island coach tour for us. Breakfasts were good with a wide range of choice. The room was pleasant enough with a comfortable bed and en- suite facilities. There was wi fi with internet access and I could print off boarding passes for the airline. The owner also provided a small bar in the evening which we used once. It was a pleasant stay and we managed to talk to other guests who were staying at the Bayview.

Very disappointing roomPosted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff with very good breakfast.
Cons: The room - see above.
Location: The name, Bay View Guesthouse, is deceptive as there is no view of the bay.
Booked a twin room but was given a triple room with a narrow 4 foot wide double bed. Room, like two others, was right under the roof and was stiflingly hot although the weather was not excessively hot - at least a fan was provided. Hot water was unreliable and the shower failed entirely when the bath on the floor below was being used.

BAY VIEW GUEST HOUSE JERSEY MAY 2014Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Friendly atmosphere
Cons: Decoration in some areas looking a little dated with several electrical conduits mounted somewhat roughly on wall surfaces.
Location: The centre of St Hellier is 10-15 minutes walk and several resturants and bars are in close proximity with a pleasant beach. Good location.
The Guest House is very near to being a Hotel in terms of Guest Lounge, bar, breakfast, and very friendly staff and other guests. We had a very pleasant stay.

Typical sea-side resort guesthousePosted May 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
Very nice guesthouse, clean room with a lovely breakfast. Surprised to have a fridge and microwave in the room, so that was a bonus. But no parking - maybe I should have checked, as I just assumed it would have places. And advice received on where to park was confusing. The Jersey parking system is baffling - read up on rules, pay cards and discs!! Took us 2 hours to find a place to park, find a place to buy a scratch card to put in the windscreen and understand how many hours parking we needed to pay for!! The room itself was clean but squashed - it didn't bother us too much as we only stayed for one night, but had we stayed longer, it would have been an issue. Overall, a nice short stay!

Not 4 starsPosted May 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed 4 nights . The assigned 4 star rating is a Jersey Island Rating .It is probably a two and a half star to 3 star North American Rating ..Bed sheets were never changed. WiFi is almost non existent in the rooms ..you have to go to reception to get a constant signal .Breakfast is not served till 8: 30 ... a good breakfast. however. There is absolutely no viewof any bay ..the name hould be changed to avoid anyone from being mislead. Ask for aroom away from the busy road. There is a bus stop nearby ..buses are expensive like everything else on the Island .Asmall convenience store is around the right hand corner..
