Good position next to beach and transportPosted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: Position and easy access
Cons: Triple glazing at the front, update décor.
Location: Easy access to beach and outdoor swimming pool. Good walks either way.
Stayed for 4 nights and would stay again . Front rooms noisy because of traffic would benefit from triple glazing. Décor dated but very clean. Staff most helpful and friendly. 10 min walk into town and bus stop outside. Would recommend.

Nice hotel with sea view.Posted Jul 20, 2014
Hotel within walking distance St Helier centre, bus stop on doorstep. Local bars restaurants close by outdoor sea pool with coffee bar next door. Hotel indoor pool open till 9pm. Our room spacious, furnishings a little worn but I would happily return. Staff informative and chatty. wifi free but limited to 2 areas. A few internal stairs but hotel had ramp for wheelchair users and lifts to some floors.

Great breakfast but terrible evening mealPosted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The staff - very helpful and courteous.
Cons: A complete refurbishment as the hotel is 'tired'. The evening meals are of poor pub standard - preprepared and nuked beyond palatable.
Location: A free sea pool is 200 metres away and very popular. The hotel is a 20 walk or 5 minute walk from St Helier centre.
We were allocated a corner balcony room (26) on the second floor and close to the lift. The room was of a good size with comfortable twin beds and a reasonably sized en-suite. Unfortunately the toilet paper holder was too far from the actual toilet (design fault?) to be practical and we had to request extra rolls to be placed on the cistern. The walls seemed a little thin as I was clearly able to hear the occupant of the adjacent room snoring loudly each night between 3 and 5am (the snorer's partner deserved a medal as the sound woke me up regularly!) The full English breakfast was superb and based on this we booked an evening meal at the hotel - big mistake! £15 for two courses, the main of which was almost inedible and clearly had been pre-prepared during the day and warmed up/nuked that evening. There are other restaurants nearby which are excellent - particularly the Portugese Bistro across the road (not open in Wednesdays).

Fort d'Auvergne is a very nice hotel, walking distance from shops, bars & restaurants. The reception staff were extremely helpful, giving directions and helping us with our boarding passes. Our room was very clean with everything we needed. The breakfast was good, waiters friendly and eager to help.

Nice hotel with friendly staffPosted Jul 7, 2014
Location: Near to the promenade and beach. Short bus ride away from Gorey.
Had a lovely clean room with balcony overlooking the sea.One of the best hotels I have stayed in! Lovely food, lovely helpful staff and very clean ..would stay here again. A little way from town but no.1 bus stops outside and runs every 15 mins- well worth it. ( only takes 5 minutes)

A very enjoyable stay at the Fort D'Auvergne hotelPosted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Friendliness of all staff , comfortable bed, indoor swimming pool, excellent location and good breakfasts.
Cons: Some furnishings could do with replacement or updating as long as character of hotel was still maintained. Didn't affect our stay though.
Location: Next to beach & a sea pool lido. Bus stop to St Helier outside hotel. Car hire just across road.
Fort d'Auverne hotel is quite old fashioned in it's decor, but had all the facilities that we required for a comfortable & most enjoyable 5 night stay. We will certainly be returning in the future. All staff friendly, helpful & efficient.
