Pros: Friendliness, willing to accommodate a very early departure ("would you like the night porter to make you tea and toast?"
We came in late and they squeaked us into the dining room for a delicious dinner. We had to leave early and they had coffee and toast ready.

Very nice hotel

Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The food and the geeral comfort.
We had a very pleasant 4-night stay in room 2, which is immediately adjoining reception, so very convenient. The room itself was a little dark, looking on to a small courtyard, and the bathroom was rather cramped (to say the least). Other than that, the room was comfortable and well maintained. However, it might be worth paying the extra for a superior or premium room. The hotel overall is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant is of a very high standard. Breakfast is buffet style and there is a reasonable selection. There is a large, comfortable bar and an outdoor pool which looks as though it would be a big attraction in summer. For those without their own transport it is a bit of a walk into town but not too bad (say, 15 to 20 minutes). There is a bus stop literally outside the door, but the bus runs only about every 2 hours! However, if you time it right this can be very handy. Overall we would have no hesitation in returning to the Hampshire.

Lovely hotel with friendly welcoming staff.

We stayed for three nights and could not complain. We were welcomed as soon as we walked in and felt as though we were part of a family. The room was spotless with clean towels every day. It wss a great find.

Pleasant good-value hotel in St. Helier

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Hotel had everything we needed for a 3 night stay in St. Helier. Premium rooms are a good size, good breakfast buffet, lovely food in the restaurant, a pleasant sun terrace and pool, car park and a 10 minute walk into town. The only downside was the noise from deliveries starting at 0615 to the business opposite but then we do choose to leave our window open.

Simple, efficient and friendly

The Hampshire is a clean, unfussy, comfortable hotel which does all the things you want of a hotel extremely efficiently. Staff are helpful. It was simple to feel at ease there. A little walk from the centre of town.

Overall very mixed

Posted Aug 4, 2014 on Hotels.com
Clean hotel with modern fresh decor. Very good breakfast with a wide range of choice encompassing full English and continental. Service was very mixed with very welcoming reception staff to abrupt miserable looking bar and restaurant staff. Hotel rooms are of varying standards. We had booked a Premier which was good if a little expensive and a standard which was reminiscent if a cupboard in comparison. TV reception in both rooms was very poor and only 4 channels in a Premier room. Rooms also very stuffy despite having windows wide open.

Nice hotel with high standard of amenities

Posted Jul 20, 2014
Pros: The size of the hotel was just right, not too small but not a faceless monolith. The location was well situated for walking into St Helier.
Cons: The coffee at breakfast! too weak and tasteless.
Location: Excellent location for St Helier. Many high standard restaurants within walking distance. Rest of the island easily accessible by car.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. The Premier room was spacious and quiet with good bathroom facilities - all well cleaned.Pool and bar area were pleasant. We dined in the restaurant one night and the food was excellent.
