Great Location, friendly staff
Great location, mid range hotel within walking distance of everything. Parts of hotel getting a bit worn is it only opens for peak season. Staff friendly, breakfast good (buffet) with plenty of choice

Very sad hotel, in need of complete redecoration and modernisation. the bar never opened and wallpaer was hanging off. Rumour has it that it will be closed soon and converted into apartments.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I told them in advance that I was traveling with a bicycle and wanted a safe place to leave it. I was allowed to store it in my room which helped me to keep it safe on my trip. They even gave me a ground floor room which was very helpful with my bike and heavy luggage.

The beds and pillows were old/beyond their reasonable life/incredibly uncomfortable The baggage store was left unlocked both times we tried to use it The breakfast was amazing, with staff who were very jolly and went out of their way to help The hotel is very near the bus station, beaches and town centre

Paid for breakfast but they would not honour my booking. Tired grubby premises that is really just a block of poor rooms. Food, bar and pool are all down the road at another hotel. The two stars rating at the front door seems overly generous.

Booked this hotel with breakfast. Hotel informed me that Hotels.com had booked room only . So, as a customer showing the hotel confirmation of my booking which included breakfast they refused to honour this, it was left up to me to try and sort it out . Thee days into my holiday I gave in, still not getting anywhere with hotels.com or the Stafford. The only way for us to get breakfast was to pay the Stafford £20, we went elsewhere. So the Stafford and hotels.com don't give a **** about customer care. Hotel is also quite grubby took them 4 days to get room cleaned after asking. Room sadly in need of update . lots of stains and mould on ceiling, however bed was fine clean and comfortable.

Property front is only feet away from busy side street. Our room was over reception and therefore overlooked the street. Property smelt of cigarettes in reception and lounge areas. Room shabby, holes in wall from previous fixings, stains on wallpaper and carpet. WiFi very poor in bedroom. TV only showed 3 channels, screen very small, picture rolled. Noise from traffic and local bars kept us awake, until after 2am at weekend, language foul, traffic fumes in our room and also some cigarette fumes. Drunk asleep in doorway opposite one morning.

It had old world charm and the bed was comfortable so able to get a good night’s sleep. The pillows though were a bit lumpy. The room was serviced each day with fresh towels and was clean. It was old and the carpet and curtains are quite worn. As we spent our time out in Jersey It was more important that the the room was clean, bed comfortable and the cost reasonable, which it was.

Hotel is desperately in need of a complete facelift. I was shocked to see parts of the ceiling on the corridor with a leak and water damage. The room was from the 1980’s, the bathroom tatty and only 4 channels on the TV. This hotel has seen no investment for 30 years! The staff on the other hand were helpful and the room was as clean as it could be for it’s obvious age.

Probably not the best place to stay during the summer as the hotel had no air conditioning. All fans were broken, so a very uncomfortable night. The breakfast was nice, however, it did not make up for no sleep

The staff were friendly and helpful and an asset to the hotel. However, the hotel itself is tired and is in need of an upgrade but the house-keeping was good. The hotel had a very central position and is close to amenities, beach, bus station etc. We only had bed and breakfast but found the food good. As a budget hotel I would recommend it to friends etc.

There is a difference between outdated and dirty. This place was outdated AND dirty. I would have been fine had it just been outdated, but I wish our room had been cleaned. There was hair on the towels and something (I think someone's waste!) still on the toilet bowl. The shower didn't work - even the hotel staff couldn't turn it on. When it finally went on, it was just a small stream of water with no real water pressure.

Good location and impressive breakfast.
Location is a few minutes walking distance to the beach or town centre. Car parking is within a multi storey privately owned car park, costed by the hour and is accessed via the same road. Good range of items available at breakfast, which includes: cereal, croissants, danish pastries, fruit, yoghurt and self service full english breakfast.

Lovely Holiday
Lovely hotel, very good value. Plenty of hot water. Friendly staff. Clean room. Tea and coffee replenished every day. Breakfast excellent, entertainment by the hotel pet 'Button' made my holiday. Central position, just right for Elizabeth Castle. Would stay there again. Knew the room would be dated but can forgive this for the price and service.

The hot water tap in the bathroom sink didn't work, it was a trickle so had to wash using bath. Towels not changed when I left them in the bath after using. Just folded back onto towel rail. My room was next to a fire escape that was apparently used as a smoking area. People talking out there 10.30 at night kept me awake and one night the fire door was left open so it banged against the fire escape all night. I didn't know what the noise was until I looked out the next morning and saw the door blowing in the wind.

The Stafford is modestly priced. The room was clean, simply furnished, and comfortable. As someone who spends most of his time outside of his hotel room, I am more than satisfied with a comfortable room at a good price. Breakfast was excellent.

Great hotel for the price
Great 2 star Hotel. Friendly staff and good service. Breakfast although limited choices on offer was very good. Had the evening meal which was excellent and plenty on offer great price.
