Wonderful location and fantastic staffPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, delicious breakfast
Cons: Parking is limited and a bit of a tight squeeze
Location: Five minutes or less from the Jaffa Gate of the Old City, close to Mamilla Mall (shopping for both souvenirs and ordinary items, restaurants)
We just returned from a four-night stay at the Eldan Hotel and would highly recommend it. The location is fantastic - just a 5 minute (downhill) walk to the Jaffa Gate at the Old City, and easy access to shopping and restaurants. The staff were incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations on Shabbat and even arranged a special treat for my birthday. Breakfast is a bit different in that you order one main item from a list (which includes several types of omelettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, pancakes, and a few other items) and that is served individually with salad, bread, and dips. I'm used to the buffet-style breakfast, but this was actually better as the food was fresh and hot. The only thing that would make this a five-star instead of four? Better parking (there is a lot underneath the building which fits only about 10 cars, and it is an extremely tight squeeze in there). We had no problems as we only moved our rental car one day, but we did overhear several other customers having to pay for public parking.

Best location in JerusalemPosted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Hotel is extremely well located. The Staff ,specially at the front desk, is very friendly, helpful. They booked for us a great day trip to Masada and the Dead Sea. They made sure that we had all the appropriate information. The breakfast is simple but very adequate, the cappuccino is great. The room is not large but very clean, the bed is comfortable. The WiFi service in the room is fast and excellent, there was never any down time. . We felt at home and we recommend this hotel if you want to have the perfect location in Jerusalem.

Stayed 5 days. Room is very clean and staff is helpful. Very good location, close to the mall and short walk to Jaffa gate of the old city (everything within 5-10 min walk). Wireless internet is free in the rooms. Very good breakfast.

Cons: Availability of snacks, drinks etc in evenings
Location: Close to Old City. Prompt pickup by tour guides.
Basic, but adequate and clean and only a ten minute walk from the Old City.

Nice hotel in a great locationPosted Oct 6, 2013
Location: The hotel is a short walk to the Jaffa Gate.
We found the Eldan to be a great choice. We do not spend much time in hotel rooms so we wanted a clean place with a good location. The friendly staff and delicious breakfast were a bonus.

Very convenient location!Posted Sep 26, 2013
Pros: Location, staff.
Cons: getting Queen beds that are comfortable and nice pillows.
I stayed here with my boyfriend for 2 nights, hotel it is very decent, clean and just what we needed! The location couldn't be better! It is in the nicest area of Jerusalem but a 15min walk to the old city! You can really walk to all the important sights and restaurants and it is a really nice neighborhood to explore so just because of that it is a huge pro! rate seemed fair, breakfast is good, the staff is extremely helpful, nice and well trained, and the room has a good size and furniture, nice windows, the only downside for me was that the pillows and beds (2 twin beds together), were very uncomfortable, especially as a couple, since they have no queen beds so you have to sleep with a hole in between.... bathroom is clean but it smells funny, I think because of the drain, but I had this problem everywhere in Israel, even in expensive hotels.... I definitely recommend this hotel!
