“Sweet location”
Super great location right off the highway and the three essentials free parking, wi-fi and breakfast.
“Review: LaQuinta Alexandria-South”
Good hotel, responsive management, very nice bed, sheets, comforter, etc. Hotel was well- setup for a medium-sized workshopt that I attended. Main downside: hotel is not very accessible on foot or Metro. Few decent restaurants nearby. But hotel shuttle is cooperative for lift to Old Town.
“Requested non-smoking room but it smelled of cigarette smoke. Otherwise, room met our needs.”
I requested a non-smoking room. Except for a lingering cigarette smell, the room was fine. Good nights stay for a good price.
“Would stay here if in the area again.”
Staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was nicely appointed, but needed two chairs for comfort. The grooming area was too small for placing necessary grooming supplies. (Per my wife) We found the beds extremely comfortable and appreciated the very nice towels and linens we used while there.
“Ok stay. Not a great neighborhood”
Ok stay. Not a great neighborhood, while I was there three cars were broken into.
“Average”
Great location, good friendly staff. Biggest complaint is that my room was not vacumed the entire week of my stay. There were chips on the floor when I got there, I left them to see if/when thay would clean them up, and they never did. Also, it rained hard two of the days I was there and the hallway window leeked badly, right onto the carpet. This particular hotel has a lot of truckers staying at it, not that this is a bad thing, but you do here them leaving early in the AM. All in all, not a bad stay though.
“Too pricey for a high risk area”
Rate was comparable to higher class hotels, but location is questionable. There were a lot of "characters" hanging outside the hotel. There was almost a riot, and the police had to come over. The morning we checked out, the elevator broke and either no one on staff cared, or no one knew about it. We, and many others, had to haul our luggage down the stairs. The front desk was going to charge me for the room even though it was already paid through Expedia. The clerk was nice, after I explained I had already paid, and did not run the charges again and was going to contact Expedia to straighten it out. I'll have to check to make sure I was not charged, and that in fact I do get my receipt mailed to me when I return home. The clerk did call me on my cell phone a few hours later to reassure me she straightened it out with Expedia and that I was not charged again.
“An unexpected disappointment”
This hotel is not up to La Quinta standards. The location is in an industrial area, and most of the clientele seem to be truckers, whose rigs were parked all around the hotel. The room was not very clean, the facilities are aging, and I did not feel completely comfortable after dark when outside the building. The facility may be fine for construction workers and truckers, but I would not recommend it for families. The breakfast was not appealing to me. I won't go back.
“NEVER AGAIN!”
Double charged for stay, paid through Expedia, then the hotel charged me, major credit card issues! Had my kids and there were "working women" in & out, because hotel is right by truck stop I am guessing. Plumbing problems, water all over floor in hallway on our floor, then our toilet clogged. We could smell marijuana in the hallways as well & there was a lady downstairs saying things were missing from her room! I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL!!!!!
