Authentic old residence with all mod cons.

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: The location inside the city walls and close to all the action. Loved the authentic residence. We felt like we were really in old China.
Location: Right inside the walls and close to all tourist attractions in the city.
We loved staying in this courtyard hotel in Pingyao. It is well run and clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The English type breakfast food is a bit primitive but good enough. The Chinese food is excellent and the coffee is delicious.

Nice hotel near the center of Dunhuang

Posted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: the location, and help we received from all staff members.
Cons: It is quite well as it is.
Location: The night market is a shopping and restaurant area nearby, close to the mosque. It is a very lively and interesting place. A sand dune is a mile away.
We stayed four nights, had pleasant meal and breakfast in the hotel, and received great help from the staff at all times, and in particular when organizing trip out of Dunhuang. the hotel offers a service of rentals of cars with a driver, which is very convenient and not expensive.

A step back in history

Posted May 14, 2014 on Hotels.com
Staying at the Yide courtyard hotel was like experiencing China a 100 ( or maybe even 600) years ago during the Ming Dynasty. Things are so authentic and rustic it gives you a true flavor of yesteryear. The room was great and the staff was incredibly attentive. The food in the restaurant was excellent and was reasonably priced. This was so much better than the standard boring hotel room that you would normally stay out. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wanted to truly enjoy hanging out.

The perfect place to stay in the ancient city.

Posted May 3, 2014
This place far exceeded my expectations. The staff were wonderful and the hotel itself is a wonderful taste of the ancient city. The hostel restaurant is the pick of places to eat in the whole of Pingyao, with a delicious menu for breakfast, lunch & dinner. You won't want to eat anywhere else.

Best place to stay in the ancient city

Posted Nov 16, 2013
Had a wonderful stay at the Yide Hotel. The rooms were quaint, warm and welcoming, and the staff were helpful, friendly and courteous and spoke English! We stayed for two nights. I was upgraded from a single to a double room and my parents and their friends were given two adjoining rooms with a nice common area. The beds were very firm but I slept wonderfully for the two nights. The hotel is well located and we were given great directions for where to go by the hotel staff.

Conveniently located in quiet area. Quaint.

Posted Sep 23, 2013
Pros: Authenticity, homey feeling, food in restaurant, convenient.
Cons: The restaurant has very good food but service can be disorganized. They need to improve service or come up with more adaptable seating, or both.
Location: Very close to West St which is one of the two main streets for sightseeing. Near side streets to get glimpse of how locals live.
I stayed 2 nights. The staff is helpful and understand and speak English. The hotel retains the character of the courtyard style including the inside of the rooms, which have the traditional kang beds. It is 2-3 blocks from the busy streets with all the shopping/dining/sites that attract tourists which makes it quiet. Nice after a long day of walking around. Room was small and could be too small for a longer stay. I enjoyed it.

Perfect Experience!

Posted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Perfect location on a very quiet street, so silent at night, but only a few mins walk to the centre if town
This hotel was simply perfect, beautiful inside and outside. Really comfy room, silent at night but only a few mins walk from the middle if town. Also, Julie who worked on the reception desk was really lovely and helped us book last minute train tickets and was always happy to give help and advice. Had a perfect Pingyao experience as a result!
