While it may be tempting to just chill out when vacationing in Jiujiang, remember, Jiangxi's diverse natural and man-made attractions lie just beyond your doorstep. Nanchang, lays 35 miles (56 kilometers) to the north, while Jiujiang lies 40 miles (64 kilometers) to the southwest.
Nanchang, is another good place to head to. It is 35 miles (56 kilometers) from Jiujiang and offers a great selection of visitor attractions, for example Bayi Park, Bayi Square and August 1 Uprising Museum. Pavilion of Prince Teng and Nanchang University are good places to visit.
Many travelers agree that one of the most useful compliments you can make to locals you'll encounter in your travels is to put in the effort of a little of their language. "Nǐ yào bú yào gēn wǒ tiàowǔ" is the Mandarin way to say "Would you like todance with me?" Another helpful sentence is "Zhèiwèi xiānsheng huì qīngdān" (This gentleman/lady will pay for everything).
As your adventures here draw to a close, spend what's left of your renminbi on that last souvenir and say Zàijiàn to the people you've enjoyed getting to know and the spots you've been.
