Very close to the market and main areas.

Posted Apr 12, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and proximity to the main attractions
Cons: The food needs to be improved on, but otherwise lovely stay.
Location: The fort and the market is nearby, both walking distance. The hotel will help in arranging rickshaws or private vehicles for sightseeing.
It was a good, safe experience for a woman travelling alone. The staff was most helpful in arranging and explaining about transport.

Nice hotel in Jodhpur Old city

Posted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Location, clean functional rooms, inexpensive
Cons: For the price not much.
Location: Mehrangarj Fort, old city area
We stayed here for 3 nights. The location of this hotel is perfect if you like being within walking distance of the old city and the Mehrangarh fort. This is an old haveli that has been converted into a hotel, so it has a lot of little old world charm. The rooms are very big as are the bathrooms. The furniture is quite old and could do with some updating. They have a terrace top restaurant where you get a nice view of the fort. The included breakfast was adequate. The staff were very friendly. We could take a short cut to the Fort, which was a steep climb, but got there in 10 minutes. Clock Tower, Nai Sarak are all within 10 minutes walk.

Fantastic Location and place to stay

Posted Jan 22, 2014
Pros: Location / View
A wonderful hotel with a view straight onto the fort. Walking distance to everything of interest. Very helpful staff. Rooms basic but perfect in their basicness. Would definitely stay here again. The rooftop is a place you will spend many hours with a book or a beer or both.

Great location

This place is high on location and charm, but low on amenities and comfort. It is right at the base of Mehrangarh fort in the old city. The rooms are rustic and quaint, but there was no hot water in the shower. If you're looking for a lot of comfort, this is not your place. Great location, walking distance to a lot of great shopping.

Wrongly classified

Very poor property. No Wi FI in rooms, unclean, very ordinary breakfast. More over it is a guest house and not a three star heritage hotel.

Quirky, colourful, comfortable.

Hotel an interesting maze of steps, fun chaos of bric a brac and color. Rooms were spacious, old and quirky but clean and comfortable. Restaurant was pricey but delicious with superb view of fort on rooftop. Breakfast included was very basic. Get there at 7am or most things are barely warm. Was offered and charged for a room for 3. My son slept on a 10cm thick mattress using up only spare floor space. WiFi only in dark windowless foyer. No international wall sockets so bring a plug converter. Pool looked clean and lovely.

Characterful haveli just minutes from city centre

Posted Nov 28, 2013
Pros: Its location and very good value for money
Cons: the plumbing is ready for an update
Location: The easy walk up to Mehrangargh fort only takes about 10 minutes and the fascinating Sardar bazaar area is just minutes from the front door.
The managing owner is friendly enough but the restaurant and is staff is very disappointing. Breakfast is poor and dinner should be avoided; there are many other good places to eat within a few minutes walk. Internally, the hotel is surprisingly large, a warren of inter-connected courtyards and rooftop terraces. Even the swimming pool is of reasonable size. Views over the city and up to the fort are fabulous both daytime and at night.
