“Good deal”

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room itself was clean, with a very nice bathroom. The only issue we had was the shuttle, which only comes to the airport on the hour unlike those of other hotels which seemed to show up every 10 or 15 minutes. The shuttle bus also broke down twice on the way to the hotel, just a fluke I'm sure. But otherwise a great place to stay. We had dinner at one of the restaurants in the compound, great wines and lamb shank! I wish we could have stayed longer so we could take a tour of Jo'burg and really experience the area.

Not only is this hotel beautiful and clean everyone goes out of their way to be of service. You feel like you are welcome into your best friends home and the complimentary breakfast is a wonderful experience.

DEcent service, close to airport (~R100 if you take a cab rather than their shuttle), nice rooms, GREAT breakfast, and a wonderful restaurant.

Near flight path, bring ear plugs. More of a conference center for large groups. Large breakfast buffet. 15 minutes to airport. Free shuttle. High security.

A nice place to get away to and relax, more like a home away from home, only limitation is the distance from room to place of eating, subject to where your room is located. Generally a nice place.

“restful stop-over”

I used the Birchwood Hotel for a one night stop over between flights and chose this hotel because it was reasonably priced and offered free transport to and from the airport. The hotel is only a short journey from the airport and the hotel runs coaches every hour. This hotel is also a conference centre with a range of on-site facilities and extensive parking. I had a double room, in single storey chalet type accomadation, with on-suite bathroom (bath and seperate shower) and a small area with a frige, kettle etc.The room was large enough to include a double bed, area for relaxing with easy chairs and TV. Everything was clean and tidy,the staff were very helpful and the breakfast was just amazing. I was a bit apprehensive about booking "blind" but I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and will return if I have to stop-over again.

“Convenient, Convenient and Okay”

Hotel is a large conference centre with a range of meal options. Found the "al la carte' restaurant options superior to the buffet. Service from staff was attentive and welcoming. The rooms were good, although showers were a little old. They provided excellent space. A large walk in security safe for the storage of luggage and valuables was excllent. Security is good. The grounds and surrounding areas are kept immaculate and are enjoyable to wander in. Found the staff to go out of their way to be helpful. It is in a very convenient locations. john

“Hotel is very handy for an overnight stay when passing through Johannesburg Airport”

Handy for Johannesburg International. Accommodation was adequate for short stay although less so for a holiday break. Accommodation was satisfactory and breakfast in morning also satisfactory but neither anything to get excited about. Not sure it was of the standard outlined through Expedia when selecting hotel. It was selected on basis of proximity to airport.
