Pros: ----------
Cons: ----------
Location: NONE, Need car to go around
There was TV in room 12" very disappointing. As per receptionist all rooms has same TV in entire hotel. Never seen this small TV in years. Beds were small full size. It is in the Industrial Zone, don't want to stay anymore.

Safe hotel in Johannesburg

Posted Nov 2, 2013
Pros: quiet and clean. And very secure
Location: Not really close to anything, except a golf course. Inside a complex of computer companies.
we arrived in Johannesburg 2 days before joining a tour/safari. We needed a place to sleep and get over jet lag. This hotel worked perfect for that. Quiet and clean. It is inside a complex that has many computer company offices, which was quite secure. Not really close to anything one might do in Joh... but we just needed a place to rest. Food at restaurant at dinner was quite good, and reasonably priced. Free breakfast was quite decent, and was more than just continental fare. Fresh croissants were very good. No place for lunch, but we didn't care.

The biggest problem was the lack of signs to find the place. The GPS did not locate it nor were there ANY signs to point to it. When we were an hour on the road trying to find it the person that answered the phone could not tell us how to get there. The blow dryer was broken, the lights not strong enough, the drain in sink and shower plugged up. They put us in a room right next to highway so it was noisy. The girls at the desk during the day, Charmaine in particular, was especially helpful to accommodate. Breakfast was nice.

Nice decor, incompetent front desk staff

Posted Dec 3, 2012
Pros: Nice clean room
Cons: Incompetent staff, need to learn to communicate
Location: close to shops & the city
The hotel & room were nice but the staff were not up to scratch. I had to ask 3 times for a shuttle service to be booked to take me to the airport and I had no communication back from the front desk staff. I then had to go down on the morning i was meant to be leaving to confirm the shuttle service and I was quoted an incorrect price (which i only found out at the airport when the driver wanted payment). The front desk staff need to know what they are doing and maybe need more training. They gave me a late checkout as requested but i had to go down & inform them during the day that the cleaning staff were trying to get into my room while i was there & they blocked my card after normal check out time so i had to again make another trip downstairs to reception and get them to extend my stay hours on my hotel room key card... It has lovely decor but the staff are a bit incompetent Im afarid. I wouldnt really recommend this hotel.

Holiday Inn Express

Posted May 28, 2012
Pros: I beleive the breakfast was particularly outstanding, there was enough variety to choose from, Kudos Holiday Inn
Cons: I couldnt control the room temperature so as to heat up the room, so I had to put off the air conditioning, nevertheless the room was still very cold
Location: Peaceful and serene, great place to return to after a busy day at Sandton
I had a very pleasant stay, the staff was generally warm. The room was a bit colder though, and there was no way to regulate the room temperature effectively, since I was visiting in winter, but in all, I would gadly recommend the hotel and their breakfast is wonderful.

This hotel is not for tourists

Posted Mar 25, 2012
Not a hotel for tourists, far from shops and amenities. Probably OK if you have your own transport, but otherwise can cost a fortune in taxi fares! Breakfast was included in my hotel charge, but the breakfast is very basic.

Business solution not so much for tourist

Posted Feb 26, 2011
The affordable rate was the driver to choose this hotel, but the location requires using cab (taxis), that are very expensive in joburg. I think it is necessary rent a car in joburg, in that case this hotel would be an excellent chic

Needs some transportation

Posted Aug 8, 2010 on Hotels.com
Around this hotel, no restaurant, no shopping center, only golf club. So, we need some transportaion. The room is very clean and confortable. Facility is good, but I hope the bath tub if you can set up.
