With the free shuttle it is a worthwhile option

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Location, Pleasant Staff, In-Room Comfort, Value for Money
Cons: Don't put guests at the end of the looooooong halls unless there really is NO other room available.
Location: overnight only
With the free shuttle it is a worthwhile option from the "in-airport" hotels. However, be sure to give yourself 30 minutes extra travel time, even though the hotel is 10 min. away. If you take in to account time to load people into the shuttle and unloading, and waiting at traffic lights, well... 30 minutes is a safer planning. We highly recommend asking for a room close to the elevators, and don't necessarily accept the first room they give you. In the booking we asked for a room no more than 3 away from the elevators, but they originally gave us the very last room at the end of 3 long corridors which was literally a 10 minute walk from the lifts. We asked to be moved and got a better room, higher up, and closer to the lifts. I don't know why they seem to do that to people. One thing we noticed is that everyone working there "appeared" to be happy. It is certainly nicer to deal with happy staff than grumpy ones. Kudos for the pleasant staff.

Excellent hotel for over night airport stay

Posted Jul 15, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Air con controls & I could not seem to switch off the bathroom fan no matter which switch I used.
Location: Isolated as far as I could see. But for an overnight it was fine. Need a taxi to get anywhere.
I rang the hotel from the airport to check on the shuttle and they held it for me for 5 minutes (pick up behind the Intercontinental). Very friendly and helpful staff. Shuttle leaves the airport on the half hour and leaves the hotel on the hour. Otherwise it is 10 mins in a taxi. They gave me a late check out 4 pm. Very nice as I had a late flight. Nice room with desk so I could work although air con seemed to be a bit hard to control a constant temperature. Bar.Restaurant.Nice breakfast. Free wifi (limited amount but handy). Overall great hotel for the price and lovely staff.

One night in Joberg

Good, clean airport hotel with nice staff and good breakfast. Large, comfortable clean rooms. I have a sense it is a green hotel with the dim lights in the rooms which I'm glad about. Free hotel shuttle. Didn't partake in the hot bar but bit looked cool.

a great hotel!

Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Everything. Every staff member was so friendly and wanted to help in any way. Remember to tip!
Cons: Nothing!
Location: We took the Guatrain to the Park stop and took the Red Bus on and off tour. We also did the Soweto tour with the same company.
We arranged for two nights to see Joburg in between flights home from two weeks of teaching Zambia. This hotel was outstanding. Very clean with an excellent, helpful staff. The restaurant and room service have excellent meals. Very quiet, comfortable rooms. They have a free shuttle service from the airport and to the Guatrain Rhodesfield stop. It was easy for us to plan our sightseeing days with this hotel as our base. Would definitely stay here again.

Conveniently situated to OR Tambo Airport

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Only spent the night there so did not get to experience hotel at all apart from room but it appeared to be very nice
Cons: Nothing to add here
Location: Needed a hotel close to airport - would book in again if opportunity presents itself
We required an overnight stay with a shuttle service to the hotel as we arrived late in the evening. Very satisfied.

Comfortable hotel near airport

Posted Jun 29, 2014
This is a good option for those staying near OR Tambo. Free shuttles run every hour to and from the hotel. It is about a 10 minute trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was ok, but expensive for the quality. We took the shuttle to the airport where there are better restaurant options..

Comfortable

A big hotel, in a reasonable neighbourhood. Close to the airport and free shuttle bus makes this hotel ideal for overnight stays between flights.

Very nice for being an airport hotel

We were just here overnight between flight legs and found it to be great. Large, comfortable room, 24 hour food service avaiilable, free internet and shuttle.
