Small hotel close to Rosebank Gautrain stationPosted Sep 20, 2013
This hotel has a relatively small number of clean and luxurious rooms with very attentive staff, fast wifi, and delicious food.

Excellent Johannesburg Hotel!Posted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: The rooms are beautiful, and the hotel has a very friendly, relaxed vibe.
Location: Shopping plaza, craft market, and commuter train are all near by.
My husband and I stayed here during our honeymoon and could not have been happier! The hotel is beautiful, and the rooms are great! The hotel staff is also very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the hotel served delicious food, and guests are given a discount (although prices are very reasonable). There is a shopping area within a few blacks walking distance, which has a lot of restaurants and shops. Also near a craft market on weekends. The commuter train is a block away, which makes it easy to get to and from the airport.

Pretty boutique hotel.Posted Apr 13, 2013
Pros: the garden and ambience.
Cons: The breakfasts. Poor understanding by staff of requests.
Good dinners. No hot water for 12 hours! - until it was put right.

Nice hotel in the quiet Rosebank areaPosted Mar 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
A friend and I stayed our last night in South Africa in The Winston Hotel. We had a very nice comfortable room and enjoyed a lovely dinner and a few cocktails in the restaurant connected to the hotel as well. The cleaning of the room was the real highlight where the maid went in and prepared the room for the night and did everything so beautifully - so it was a real joy coming back to the room after dinner. The hotel is also located close to the Gautrain and the Rosebank Mall - so easy to get to.

Fabulous little boutique hotel.Tastefully decoratePosted Dec 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
My stay was too short but The Winston will be my hotel in Johannesburg when I return there. Excellent service, great croissants for breakfast facing the pool. 5 Stars.

Loved the WinstonPosted Oct 29, 2012
Lovely hotel, very attentive service, walking distance from the Gautrain and the Rosebank Mall, with the African Crafts Market conveniently located at the entrance. The food at Winston was also excellent. Would definitely recommend it and would go back.

Nice but Wifi spottyPosted Aug 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Overall, this hotel was a nice choice for Joburg. There is a mall close by (two blocks) with decent dining and shopping. Service at this hotel is 3 stars not 5 and the big thing for me was they have no solution for wireless connectivity. They advertise wireless in the rooms but I stayed there with 2 other colleagues and neither had decent wireless in their rooms. They attempt to solve the problem by offering you a longer cable but that is not helpful if you are trying to connect via an ipad or other wireless only device.
