Excellent hotel

Anything that you can expect from a good hotel you will find at Intercontinental OR Tambo. The hotel is excellent and conveniently located.

Heaven

This Hotel was heaven on earth. I flew from LA to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Johannesburg and I was extremely tired. Retrieved my luggage and literally walked across the street and into the Hotel. The Staff...AMAZING, The Room....AMAZING!! The Gym and Spa area were fabulous as well. I got the rest I needed to complete the rest of my journey. I highly recommend this for weary travelers.

Nice Business hotel

Even after booking a room at the Intercontinental INCLUSIVE OF BREAKFAST, the reception didn't seem to have this information on their system. This can become quite embarrassing and I Your order reference is 5HWWEN have to say that this is not the first time that this has happened on Expedia bookings. The fault lies with Expedia.

Great service overall but ...

All staff generally attentive and with good service attitude. Only blight was having to wait 10 minutes while the single lady at reception was attending to a checking out guest with another 2 on the queue. She didn't try calling for help/support from the back so we were left waiting. She didn't even appear to notice or appear concerned that there were guests waiting (for a long time). All I wanted was to re-validate my room access card. Fortunatey my wife was able to get that done at the concierge because the lady there was attentive and able to quickly prioritize and handle multiple guests. Other than that we loved the location as transit passengers. And also had Gautrain connection to downtown for a quick sight see.

Great hotel adjacent to Johannesburg Airport

Pros: Location to the airport, size of room
First class accommodation and only a 2 minute walk from the Arrivals Hall at OR Tambo International Airport. Rooms are very well appointed and very spacious. All the creature comforts you would expect to find in a 5 star hotel.

Perfect ORT Choice

Great hotel for immaculate quality, comfort and convenience. About a 1-2 minute walk from the Int'l Arrivals Hall- right out the door. Friendly, fast front desk. Excellent and very reasonably priced food (As is true throughout SA!). Very nice Spa/Pool w/ well equipped workout area overlooking the airport. The only thing somewhat lacking is that you get little sense you're in Africa!- Could be Frankfurt or Chicago. Very much appreciated that they were fine with us leaving several bags for different parts of the trip in the their storage area for a week+ going and coming at no charge even though we didn't stay there on the other legs- better/cheaper/safer option than the Airport bag storage.
