Couldn't find my booking for 1 hour. Plug sockets didn't work properly in room. Hotel very noisy, walls paper thin. Forgot to book me a car twice. Staff pocketing money personally for laundry and taxi services... The one redeeming feature was that the restaurant in the same grounds (Ciello) was excellent, great service and great food. That almost made it worth it.

Bra och fräscht hotel, med trevlig utsikt. Rummen rena och sängen bekväm. Ligger avsides men ändå nära de stora vägarna, flygplatsen och shopping.

The Lakes was a convenient spot to stay over before an early am flight out of JNB without spending more for Intercontinental/Sun and getting higher quality than the hotels along the R21.

Quiet and friendly

Pros: Friendly staff, quiet and good breakfasts
Cons: Lack of internet
Location: Some noise from nearby N12 road otherwise easy access to airport, shops etc. picturesque setting next to lake.
Hotel currently being extended but building work not intrusive. Clean but a little tired looking and in need of some painting. Advertised as having WiFi but none available we were told that it is not working and were offered access to the reception computer, this proved very inconvenient.

Pros: It has an restaurant . It is nice for who wants havving a dinner and dont want to go out .
Cons: Bathrooms can be more modern, The curtains needs an update.
Location: There is a shopping center, close. there is a lake where you can see peple fishing
Very nice place to stay. For a 3 star hotel it was nice Nice Breakfast Very good price Rooms with lake view

Good Value Hotel

Pros: Room view and the lovely bath tub.
Cons: Power cuts and no generator
Location: Useful for my Benoni trip.
The room was very nice with a beautiful view overlooking the lake. The hotel had a nice retro bar and food was tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I thought generally the hotel was good value for money. The only negative was the lack of a generator during the two hour power cut.

You can see the manager is trying hard to make the hotel a modern, good quality place to stay for business and leisure but the rooms are tired, bathrooms old and staff need some more training. Wifi is advertised as freely available, which was a key selling point for me, however the reality is that you receive limited access, after which you need to pay. This was important for me to be able to work in the evening and meant paying quite a lot extra. Reception staff were very pleasant and helpful. Everyone else was a bit lost. Most mornings I was woken up at 6am by shouting and other noise - I think from other guests rather than staff.
