I booked a shuttle from the airport via email using email@example.com. No response. I then phone from Australia to make arrangements. Of course no one there I phone the hotel no one knows about it but someone will call me back. After 15 min I phone again. Check in takes over 30 minutes as the finger scanning system won't accept my fingerprint! A very complex procedure. We finally get to the room. No instructions given as to how to use anything....nothing. No compendium in the room and no instructions as to how to use the safe! We tried breakfast. Was given a menu, we picked our selection then was told because we were guests we had to pick from a shorter selection. How ridiculous! We went to the gym and pool. When I asked where the towels were we were abruptly told "no towels" we had to get from our room. What sort of hotel with a pool and gym doesn't supply towels? We tried to do washing. No washing powder was told. How ridiculous! They provide a washing machine but no powder? Checkout was the piece that really infuriated me. As soon as I came down to the counter to check out the woman at reception immediately contacted housekeeping on the two way demanding they check my mini bar. I was expected to wait until this was done! At no point was I asked about my stay. She blankly stared into her computer and I had to ask is that it can I go? Yes was the reply. This is an apartment complex. The most basic requirements for a 5 star hotel are not met.

The Hotel is great. very welcoming staff and a nice large property. I had two bedrooms and a great living space which included a well stoked kitchen. The price was also great and would be very reasonable for families.

Pros: I LOVED the view from the 4th floor apartment as well as the accommodations overall.
Cons: I would suggest modifying the tour packages based on the guests needs.
Location: There are amazing malls with great food nearby - Sandton City and Hyde Park. Remember, Sandton is a business town.
From the hotel pick up upon arrival to the hotel delivery back to the airport, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Regent. Justice, Paul, and the staff at the front desk were exceptionally welcoming. They all made my first visit to Africa memorable. There we three instances where service could have been improved: Room Service past late afternoon was not available; Staff didn't offer any alternatives to transportation (which is understandable but could be helpful if you aren't interested in going on a tour); Tour packages didn't necessarily fit a short travel schedule (I didn't have a lot of time to tour; it would have been nice to be able to modify the package). In reference to the last instance, The Regent staff were VERY accommodating to my short travel schedule. They did their best to make sure I was satisfied, and I was!!

Location: Hotel was very safe and secure in agreat location within walking distance of bars, restaurants and hotels
I found this hotel truly exceeded my expectations. For a busy business trip this place was ideal. I turned up early before the regular check in time and they were very accommodating. Every member of staff was very polite and pleasant. The wifi was great, food excellent and the well equipped Gym and Pool allowed me to make the most of any leisure time. I had a late flight home so they even booked me into another room until my late flight. I would strongly recommend this hotel for business travellers and families. A truly memorable hotel and I plan to go back when ever I am in Jo'burg again

Fantastic Staff. Really Attentive. The food at the cantine was amazing. I especially liked their soups and fruits juice blends. You get what you pay for with the Regent, fantastic panoramic views of a beautiful city. You get standard five star hotel service, with a niche, tranquil atmosphere. It's in a really safe neighbourhood with excellent security features. facilities were great! I would definitely consider staying there for a longer period of time the next time I am in Johannesburg. Reception staff are very warm, friendly and sensitive to client needs.Cleaning staff are also really efficient and nice.

The Regent is truly an awesome luxurious holiday apartment to stay at. I thoroughly enjoyed the excellent hospitality shown by the staff. I recommend it strongly to anyone who's looking for a place that's superior to the Hilton at Sandton. Even the breakfast was excellent.
