Pros: The location of the hotel. On the main highway coming into town from the ferry and close to the shopping district for souvenirs.
Cons: More staff training... help them to become more client centric and learn about their city and what to recommend. WiFi needs to be better weak signal.
Location: Souvenir shopping, The Roberts Tram, The Shrine of St. Therese, The Jensen-Olson Arboretum, Mendenhall Glacier.
This is a great hotel to stay right next to the shopping district. It is very clean and comfortable. The beds are really firm, I prefer a softer bed but still good. The television had a lot of crackling in the background. The staff must be new or new to the area. The front desk staff did not know really much about the city nor could they make recommendations for things to do or see. I had asked about what the weather was going to be and I got " I don't know". Hopefully they will receive more training and or be able to look up information for their guests and smile! I would stay there again and overall I did enjoy my stay. The only other issue was the WiFi... Very weak signal and most times could not get a strong enough signal to check email. If they want more business people to stay with them they will need to improve in this area.

Location: Centrally located.
The Goldbelt reminded us of Eastern Europe before the wall fell. The staff seemed clueless and kind of lost. The hotel was pretty expensive and I expected better. The beds seemed new and were very comfortable. The main problem was they have no air conditioning. I was shocked to learn this. The window only opened a bit but with a fan in it, I did manage to cool the room off, but opening it meant street noise. It's on the main road in Juneau. If you stay there, ask for the mountain view side not the ocean view. So you can open the window and not hear cars and trucks. I was told that they recently remodeled, which was hard to believe.

Pros: Proximity to the dock and downtown area.
Cons: Needs additional staffing during peak times. The person to handle repairs also drives the shuttle bus.
Stayed at the beginning and end of my cruise. Location to dock was very convenient.

Pros: Large room and location.
Cons: Front desk staff needs some brain power and willingness to correct errors.
Location: Great location near all interesting museums, restaurants and artists.
Nice large room facing harbor. Good bathroom. Good room maintenance, unappealing restaurant. Pleasant location across one of the best local restaurants (Hangar) and far from the hordes of passengers from cruise ships and the resulting awful tourist shopping. Near the central bus stop and historical center with the town museums and best artist shops. Somewhat incompetent and uncooperative front desk personnel who after canceling a prepaid reservation had no qualms re-billing for it without refunding previous payment (that's the way it is !!!). Took manager's presence to correct the matter.

Newly Renovated

Pros: Location and newly refurbished rooms.
Cons: Add a room service menu.
Location: Centrally located by the marina and boat docks. Many tourist attractions, shopping and dining are within a short walk. Be sure to bring a raincoat.
I was surprisingly pleased with my recent 1-night stay at the Goldbelt. I chose a room that faced greenery at the back of the hotel (as opposed to the front directly across from where the cruise ships berth). The room was spacious, nicely decorated, and very clean. The only downside--no room service yet. Their new (and quite good) American-cuisine restaurant and bar had opened just two weeks ago and offered only sit-down breakfast and dinner dining and takeout. So ended up eating in my room in front of the big flat-screen TV.

Location: the town was very quiet after all passangers from cruise ships sailed out. difficult to find place for breakfast at Sunday morning.
Receptionist wasn't cooperative when asked possibility for late check-out from11 to 1 pm. Shuttle from the hotel to the airport was good service and the driver nice.
