“Out of the downtown Juneau cruise ship frey”

We use the Juneau Airport Travelodge as a base when moving between SE AK coastal locations. Not fancy but clean and comfortable. Restaurant is decent. Locals eat there too. Mexican and American dishes. Computer in the lobby to catch up on email but with blaring TV overhead. Walking distance from the airport with rolling luggage. At the edge of a nice residential neighborhood.

“Convenient to airport”

Building somewhat dated but contained all that we needed....large sized rooms, comfortable lounge and satisfactory dining room.

“Nothing fancy but good basic services”

The room was clean, toilets clean and beds comfortable. Nothing fancy but meets all requirements. I wasn't happy with their shuttle service though. The driver refused to drop me at the Subway two blocks away, even though it was on his way to downtown. But maybe it was a problem with that individual driver and not the hotel policy.

“Top Comfort Spot”

The hotel is very comfortable for short or long term stays. Staff were always helpful and pleasant even at 4am when needing a shuttle pick-up from the ferry terminal. Access to public transport is just a 2 minute walk down the street and from there a bus can get you anywhere in town. The breakfast in the hotel is second to none, home cooking at its finest and the staff very friendly and happy, particularly Edgar. The befew as most comfortable which ensured a good nights sleep after busy days sightseeing. We would recommend the Travelodge to anyone visiting Juneau for any length of time.

“Shamppoing your armpits?”

Average facility for Juneau. Maid forgot to replace soap in the bathroom. At least they took away the old soap. Good breakfast. Close to the airport. My room over looked a gas station but it was in Alaska so the view behind the gas station was spectacular. If you want a luxury hotel go to a different city. If you want to sleep well close to the Juneau Airport try this place. Just be sure to ask for soap.

“Not horrible, but definitely not great. Sufficient.”

This hotel had all of the necessary basic amenities. It was clean. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The in-room coffee was good. It is definitely out-dated as far as decor, but it was what I expected from a Travelodge. Two issues with the room: sometimes the toilet would not flush. I had to open the tank and jiggle the rod to get the tank to refill so it would flush. Also, the temperature controls were not easy to control. The room would get overheated way too quickly. I was able to open a window to cool things down. One night (February in Alaska, mind you), I slept with the window open just to keep it comfortable. A large disappointment was the cost and quality of the food. If you can avoid it, do NOT eat in the restaurant. My steak dinner was way overcooked and way overpriced. It was the only time I ate there during a four day stay. This hotel is not convenient to town, though it is very close to the airport. They have a shuttle that runs into town 3 times a day, but if you want to go at another time, the cab ride will cost you upwards of $25 each way. I decided to rent a car instead.

“cigarette smoke lingers”

I was not impressed with my room. It was spacious and the personell were attentive and polite, my room service was great, but as soon as I entered the building I could smell cigarette smoke. It was so overwhelming. I requested a nonsmoking room. The whole building smelled of cigarette smoke, the hallway to my room smelled of smoke and my room smelled of smoke. It was horrible. I had an upper respitory infection and it was so terrible to breath in the smoke smell. I would not recommend the hotel.

“Needs better people in managment Juneau”

Well usually I give a place three strikes but I'll only give Travelodge two. I've been very dissapointed at the service I've recieved. MY first complaint was a stay I had in December. I only stayed one night in a cold room and no hotwater and was never appologized for my discomfort in that stay or remberssed in anyway. The second stay was in March where they gave my room away even though I did have a confirmation number which was later cleared up. All I ask is for better service. I was a frequent costomer but now I have decided to do my business with other hotels. I may be from a small town but please don't treat me like a 2nd rate citizen.
