"Brilliant location and nothing was a problem."
We arrived at 5am and the staff were most accommodating with both an early check in and late check out. The Goldbelt is located in the ehart of Juneau and was a most welcome surprise in a place that has varying accommodation stttyles.

"Best hotel in Juneau"
The manager gave me a room upgrade due to a minor snafoo in my reservation. Then the front desk sent up a complimentary bottle of wine. A win, I'd say!

"Good hotel in the middle of Juneau"
We stayed 4 nights at the Prospector. It is centrally located in downtown Juneau, close to shops etc. We didn't use it for meals, but there are many coffee shops, restaurants etc. (of varying quality) within easy walking distance. Unfortunately, there is a major construction site for a new state museum going on right next door to the hotel - and will continue for a year or more. In the summer they start work *early* (i.e. 5am) and *loudly*. Do get a room away from that side! The only remedy the hotel offered was ear plugs.

"Close to Airport"
The motel is pleasant, as is their staff. However, the staff isn't real knowledgeable about street names or how to get to points of interest very well. I truly appreciated having a hotel/motel with the option of a smoking room. I know it's a terrible habit, but it makes the difference of whether I stay at their hotel or several others in the area. If you are just there overnight for a meeting or event, you can walk back to the airport as they are right across the street!! Surprisingly, the most air traffic I heard were the little yellow tour helicopters that take off and land constantly, but it wasn't bad at all! I was thoroughly pleased to find a Full-size refrigerator and freezer, instead of a small mini-fridge that doesn't keep anything frozen!! Having placed the reservation through Expedia, and a very friendly operator from Expedia did some checking looking for my room requirements, I was disappointed to have paid an extra day so that I could check in at 9:30 a.m. when I arrived, only to find that they did not have my reservation and were completely booked. But the staff did some creative changes and I was able to get into a room eventually. However, it wasn't the King size bed and extra sitting room I reserved and paid for, and because it was through Expedia that I booked the reservation, they refused to credit me the difference.

"You learn to love the rain in Juneau"
Stopped for a quick visit to a customer and overnight on my way back from Anchorage. They have quick and efficient shuttle service from the airport (just around the corner) and evidently anywhere else within reason that you want to go. Room is large enough. Clean. Good shower. Internet works well.

The Driftwood Hotel

"Location is the best asset for this hotel."
All advertising including the Juneau 2015 Guide and Lonely Planet state that there is 24 hour courtesy shuttle service from the airport. When we arrived about 2:00pm, we called the Driftwood and were told we had to have a shuttle reservation, required to be made 24 hours in advance. We were told the only way to get to the hotel, nine miles away, would be by taxi, unless we wanted to wait until 6:30pm! We were very surprised, and frustrated having to pay $22 plus tip to get there. Before leaving I took the advertising information to the front desk (different people than when we arrived) to show them we had no way of knowing to reserve a shuttle. The problem was acknowledged; so sorry. Turns out some front desk people will send out a shuttle anyway, and one guy won't. So, some guests get a free ride and some of us pay the taxi. That's not right. Also, housekeeping staff do a good job, but they were short staffed so we had to wait and extra two hours beyond check-in time to get into our room. Not a good start.

"perfect for pre cruise stay"
quirky, warm, and nourishing! A home away from home experience - if your mother is one of those who think food is love! The breakfasts are extraordinary: served at the large table so you can chat with all the guests, and with more food than is seemly!!! This is a real home, and one is immediately made to feel relaxed, and that one is truly welcome to treat it as your own too. Linda most graciously drove us to the meeting point for our Uncruise Cruise on our last day - a gesture which was much appreciated

"Nice Boutique Hotel in Juneau"
The staff at the Silverbow are fabulous. They give you great recommendations on where to eat. They order your cabs for 5 am so you can make your Ferry, and pack you a good breakfast (complete with peanutbutter chocolate granola bars, such a treat!!!) Dinner at the Silverbow is also a treat. Their soups are so fresh with huge amounts of veggies & salads that hit the spot. (Much healthier to eat there than the other local places.) I was quite surprised how many items they made themselves, bagels, variety of spreads, bread, baked goods, teas (all fresh and local) The only drawback is the exterior city noises that start quite early. Overall great place.

"Quiet and relaxing"
The room we stayed in was the bottom floor 2 doubles room - and it was very clean and comfortable, especially the bed - beyond what I expected. The innkeepers are very accommodating and generous with information. We chose not to rent a car which meant a 30 minute walk along the water and a busy roadway to and from downtown Juneau - but this was entirely our choice and we were grateful for the exercise. Taxis are available and we did arrange for them when the weather was bad. Continental breakfast included is ok and as expected - a muffin or a bagel (you have to choose), OJ, coffee. Wifi is available but limited to a small area in the apartment. Only real complaint is the shower is really tiny and the water temperature somewhat variable. Overall I would highly recommend it. It was much quieter and I expect much nicer than many of the downtown Juneau options, and far away from the cruise boat traffic and tourists.
