Children can play sand and swing. They have fun. It is near the railway. but not noisy. In fact, I feel interesting. The supermarket New World is not faraway. After several hours driving, I felt relax when I got there.

Pros: It was good value, and the owners were friendly and informative.
The room was adequate and did the job, not flash but had everything you need, and the bed was comfortable too.

Stopover night

Posted Mar 15, 2014
Pros: Location primarily.
Cons: Not sure there was any alpine view ;-)
Location: Kaikoura has a number of nice restaurants and outdoor activities. e.g. whale watching.
We used the motel to break our journey from further South en route to the Picton ferry. The room was clean and tidy and the chap we dealt with was pleasant.

Convenient and easy

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Convenient and easy going
Cons: Wifi is problematic
Location: Near the quite-desolate beach; easy walk for breakfast or dinner in the local diner, more restaurants a little further.
Quick overnight on the way up the coast. It's a straightforward motel with a self-contained kitchen and front room as well as bedroom and shower. The people were helpful and had good advice on things nearby. There's direct access to the beach via a little gate and you walk across train tracks and you're on the beach. No breakfast available but you're within walking distance of a restaurant and two minute drive into town where there are many more.
