"Best place in Kona"
Great location. Breakfasts at Splash was great. Sorry the hotel has no back pool, back overlook. We missed Tantes, but see it is totally closed. Changes all the time. Rooms are very comfortable, but a little difficult to control the air conditioning. Hope to come again. We tell people about Kona Seaside as it is such a great location and fair prices. Thanks.

"Great Motel, with everything close by."
Motel is right on the beach with it's own sandy beach front. Great snorkeling location. I saw many species of fish and even a sea turtle in the bay. The service at the small bar/grill at the pool was fantastic, and the prices were very reasonable. Overall excellent experience, and will stay there again in the future.

"The Big Island (Kona) Experience"
The Kona Coast Resort is fabulous. It is in a great position - by the sea, within walking distance from a very convenient and small shopping centre. Staff are very helpful and friendly - will do anything for you. The grounds are immaculate, the pools located within easy reach of any part of the complex and there is good security in the complex which are fairly inconspicuous. We felt very safe at any time of the day or night. The most difficult part of our trip was the public transport system, which is fabulous but infrequent. Costs $2 to $2.50 to go anywhere by buses and trolley. The trolley goes to the main parts of Kona and is fun. If you want to travel across the island, you need to get a bus which is still $2 or $2.50, or take a tour which will pick you up at your resort, or hire a car. The weather was great even though it was winter. We drove past snow up on the mountains and it was warm down on the coast. It only takes a half a day to drive round the island or a full day if you stop off at a lot of places. We saw whales spouting just off the coast, went to outlets that sold macadamia "everything" and swam at lots of different beaches, some of which had turtles swimming with us. Great place to holiday, especially if you like the outdoors.

"Nice hotel no beach but a nice pool."
We had a great experience hotel staff was friendly got checked in right away. We stayed in a standard hotel room bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom tub was out dated but no big deal. We had a refrigerator in the room which was nice but no microwave some days that would of came in handy. The pool was a nice relaxing area with floating bean bags to sit on at no extra charge. They have a bar/ restaurant that is open daily from 11-5:30 served good food and beverages you can sit and relax at the pool and they just come and wait on you. The hotel has a breakfast buffet that was awesome little spendy $25 a person was nice to splurge a couple times on it. Over all was a good experience and would recommend to a friend and would return to stay.

"Great Place"
We were very content on our stay at the Honolua. Rooms were nice and spacious and clean. Grounds were immaculate. The staff was very nice and helpful. It's worth paying the extra $20-40 for the extra room when traveling with a family. You can also walk down to Sheraton Keahou, about a 5 minute walk for a Farmers market, and great happy hour.

    Kailua-Kona, Hawaii Hotel Guide

Kailua-Kona is the epicenter of shopping and recreation on Hawaii’s western shore. Big-game fishers delight off its waters, while shoppers reel in deals along Alii Drive. The Kailua-Kona area is a hiker’s paradise because many of its best beaches are accessible only by foot. Inland, the scent of coffee permeates the air as plantations harvest precious Kona beans. Nearby coffee farms open for tours.
