“Hit and Miss”

Nice warm pool & great hot tub. Bed and most of the room was very clean. There was a small spider building a web in the corner of the window, so I stopped going back to look out the window. The toilet needed to be fixed (the flush thing was falling out, and not very responsive). Breakfast had plenty of selection, but was very warm. There was nothing keeping the milk cold, it was just sitting out (and room temperature). Yogurt was also room temperature. No syrup for the waffles; it wasn't like there was an empty syrup bottle, there was no syrup period. Overall I liked it, mostly for the warm pool and hot tub at the end of a long travel day.

“old and run down”

This hotel is badly in need of some serious updating. When we checked into our room, there was no drain plug for the tub, so we had to call maintenance to fix that. Our room air conditioning went out twice in four days so that was a couple more maintenance visits. Towels are paper thin and the hallway carpet looks like it came out of a 1980's Las Vegas hotel. Breakfast was little more than cake and powdered donuts of the variety that one buys in a prepackaged box at the grocery store. Would not want to stay here again.

“Not what I expected & not in a good way.”

The pictures on the description are not representative of the conditions of the rooms or the pool. The staff was nonresponsive with the rowdy guests at the pool. My son crawled on the floor in the room for about a half an hour and his socks and knees were filthy. To top it off, the breakfast was not even put out until after seven-thirty, which is not very convenient for business travelers with early meetings. If some care were taken to clean the carpets and pool areas, then this could be a very nice place to stay, but in its present condition I would not recommend this hotel for any families. Go use the local pool, go home, sleep in your own beds, and save a few bucks!

“When a problem arises....”

The true test of a hotel is how they react when problems arise. When we checked in we wanted to watch the 2006 World Series game 5 on the TV in the room. The homestate team, the Detroit Tigers, were playing. The game was on in the lobby. However that specific channel didn't work in our room. The response from the desk clerk was, "Oh yea. Another guest mentioned that." She had no list of who to call and no idea what to do except wait until the next day. Only after being pressured did she call the General Manager's home to leave a message. We found out later from a local restaurant worker (where we went to watch the game) that the cable channels had been realigned a month ago! In one month they couldn't get around to fix the TVs in the rooms. I stay in this area 6 or 7 times each year and will not stay at this hotel again.

“hotel room door gone.....”

we arrived at the hotel to find that they were doing construction (revotations) on most of the rooms on the second floor where they gave us a room when we checked in that the door was completely taken off the hinges!! Not sure what the hotel was like before, but I would not recommend the hotel to my friends.

“did not live up to the other reviews”

by reading the other reviews this hotel sounded clean and newer. I was very dissapointed in this hotel. I booked a non smoking room but when I got into the room it smelled of smoke really bad. The hotel did not run an air conditioner in the lobby area where you ate your breakfast. I had to turn it on each day. the swimming pool had a scum layer on the top of water. We had to get new keys 4 times due to them not working. the hotle lost power for 5 hours. They ran out of clean towels the first night. The front desk workers were not very friendly. there was one nice lady who worked there. The breakfast is good but on the weekday they stop breakfast at 9am. I was on vacation and did not want to get up and ready that early. They should keep it open until 10:30. I will not go back to this hotel.

“Should be rated a 1 star -”

We stayed in this hotel for two weekends in a row (booked at the same time). The front desk, night manager was rude and raised her voice to us as we checked in. There had been errors in room accomodations for 3 guests before us she took her frustrations out on us and was out of line. There was vomit in the hallway. We reported it on Friday night and by Sunday morning it was dried up and still on the carpet. Over the two weekends the breakfast was never restocked. Breads were stale, food area unsanitary. Pool was murky and gave our son an ear infection. Guests were loud both weekends and many guests/children running up and down the hall ways all hours of the night. While the bed itself was comfy and the room was good, it wasn't worth the surrounding environment. We will never go back. Save yourself and book somewhere else!!

“TERRIBLY RUDE SERVICE”

we had 2 towels and 2 washclothees for 4 people the first night. the second day we begged for towels all day because housekeeping forgot to take our dirty towels that were left on the floor. although we begged for towels all day (and night). we kept being told that "we don't know where all of our towels are".... and then the next time we'd ask they'd say "they're washing right now". they took down our room number to deliver some to us BUT STILL NEVER DID. finally, after 11 hours of begging we were given 4 BATH MATS (but still NO WASHCLOTHES) to use as towels because they "gave the last towels away a few minutes before we came down"... and i forgot to mention that we WOULD have just taken towels from the pool area but because of "birthday parties" they were out of pool towels too... VERY UNPLEASANT EXPERIENCE: we will NEVER stay there again!

“NOT WORTH IT”

In addition to the things already noted, this room was a disappointment in several other ways as well. The toilet was running constantly. I requested a room change and this was granted, but 2nd room was worse (and confirmed the sense that some furnishings were hand-me-downs as they were totally mismatched from the other room, shades were stained etc). I actually went back to the 1st room with the draining toilet because the 2nd room was disgusting. The ironic *save* that helped me get *some* sleep, despite the running water, was that the ridiculously loud vent covered most of that sound. TV volume needs to be turned WAY up to hear it over the vent, but at least the dripping is largely drowned out as long as the bathroom door is closed tightly shut. Seriously, if you want a decent night sleep, you want a different hotel. I found some hairs on the chair in the room and this really disgusted me too. Particularly given the general state of the place overall. I would definitely NOT stay here again. I would not recommend staying here. The Baymont was not cheap -- particularly given the quality. I've paid less for much better setting and amenities. Find another hotel in the area...it will probably be less expensive and be a better experience. However, I'd have gladly paid more for a better situation. This hotel, though a recognizable name, is clearly a weak link in the franchise. After my experience here, it is pretty hard to imagine ever taking another chance on a Baymont hotel.
