“Econo lodge: Battle Creek”

Nice Motel. Clean! Everything worked! Needed a place to hang coats and clothing. Needed more HOT food on the breakfast service, but a nice restaurant right next door. The back security door was broken...easy access to hallways and room doors. Icy and slippery enterances needed salting.

“It's what I expected.”

I'm not criticizing this property at all. But it is exactly what I expected. They're called Econo-Lodge for a reason: it's economical to stay there. This is not a Hilton or Hyatt. It is an inexpensive motel with all the trappings to match. The furnishings were handyman specials, cheaper linens & towels, formica table & countertops and a chair too big for the room. But that is all it should be. The bed was extremely comfortable, firm mattress and great pillows. I slept very soundly. The staff was courteous, and quickly brought an iron & board when I requested it. The swimming pool was being repaired and looked like something out of a horror picture. Again, I'm not being facetious. The rate that Expedia offered was much less expensive than the one I tried to get from the website of Econo-Lodge itself so GO EXPEDIA!!

you get what you pay for. It was very close to the facility where we were playing hockey.

You get what you pay for. Nice beds. Adequate facilities. A/C-heater didn't always respond to controls. All light fixtures did not work. Had to go back for new key cards 2nd day. Room smelled like vodka. Just a place to sleep.

“Definitely a Budget Motel”

The staff of this hotel was very friendly but they had a lot of equipment breakdowns. Light fixtures in the room didn't work. The air conditioner only functioned for short periods, then would shut itself off entirely (not just a function of temperature). The rooms were very clean.

Pool is not in working order and hasn't been for some time. No rool-a-way beds either

“Find somewhere else to stay!”

I have no idea why the rating I saw when making this reservation was a 3.1!!! Were the people giving the rating members of the owner's family?? This motel is in a bad state of disrepair, and that's the good part. When you go into a motel lobby to check in and you're facing a glassed-in front desk, you can only suspect that things are not right...the surrounding neighborhood appeared to be proof of that. I would feel more comfortable staying in my car overnight....but in a better part of the city.
