“Loved this place will defently go back!!”
Loved it here the staff was very nice the rooms were very clean and the bed ROCKED slept great. Had a problem with crying baby next door they moved us immediately. Although it did suck getting to pool due to construction on 2nd floor had to walk 3floors of stairs with a bad hip but pool was very nice hot tub was clean and warm. Can't wait to go back. Nothing really was open due to holiday wkd but casino was very close which was nice they had shuttle service to casino for 4$ each way not to bad but we drove def worth the extra money nice view on 14th floor. :)
“Top shelf Hotel”
Rooms were exceptionel clean well decorated and very comfortable. Parking was a minor problem in the fact that there was a city wide baseball tournament going on and parking was at a premimum in the immediate area of the hotel. However, there is a parking structure attched to the hotel but a bit of a walk. Will stay here again.
“Very Clean and Friendly Staff”
We had attended the Balloon and Air Show on July 3rd and we were taking the train to Chicago on the 4th. The front desk had inidcated that we could leave our car in the valet for the time we were going to be gone and offerred to get us a shuttle to the train station. We were very pleased with the hotel and would return.
“Renovation not completed”
The hotel staff is very helpful and very good at what they do. I was in a room that was renovated at some point but the workmanship was not very good. You can see seem in the drywall in the ceiling, not unfinished but now well done. The seems of the wall paper are evident and some have not adhered all of the way. In the bathroom, the exhaust fan was not hooked up and there was not a switch to turn the heat lamp in the shower on. Over the toilet was obvious water damage on both the ceiling and wall either from excessive amounts of steam from the shower or from water leak from the floor above. Also the reception on the TV was not great which is really disappointing given what looked like an HDTV on the wall. Be sure to use the valet service because you'll be charged for it regardless. Overall I'd say my stay was average. Great service despite the other problems.
“CHEECH AND CHONG HAD OUR ROOM”
Upon checking in for the weekend to attend a wrestling tournament, we quickly dropped our bags to take our boys to the pool. My wife immediately noticed an odor in our room which I dismissed as something we would get used to. When we returned to our room later, I realized the smell was something that would keep me from sleeping. We are not picky people, more like Super 8 Motel guests but this odor was pretty bad. I called housekeeping who brought a 'de-ionizer' and explained that the prior guests must have smoked in the room even though it is a no-smoking hotel. 30 minutes later, we were allowed to return to our room but there was still an odor. Being on the 14th floor, they did not have windows that opened which would have more than likely cured the smell. A change in room would have been a much better resolution. The rest of the hotel was very nice.
“Not impressed...”
Dirty and not maintained very well. Cold shower every morning.
“Business Stay”
Went for one night. Mostly young kids running all facets of the hotel. Of course they missed all of our wake up calls but luckily we had our own alarms set. The rooms are nice, the beds pretty comfortable and a decent restaurant with full amenities. I would not go out of my way to stay here but if you must be in battle creek for the night or really anywhere within a thirty minute drive, I would stay here over any other options, especially since its cheaper than the Holiday Inn.
“Nice Hotel - Good Location”
I was a bit concerned after reading the other reviews of this hotel. For a business trip, my room was really nice and the bed was comfortable. You could hear the train when the heat/air wasn't on but once I turned the fan on, I never heard it. This is the only over 2 star hotel in Battle Creek and I would definitely stay here again if my travels took me back to Battle Creek.
“Hotel needs to be updated”
The McCamly Hotel in Battle Creek needs to be updated. The bathroom was small and is in need of updated fixtures and countertop. The bed was comfortable although on an old platform.
“Remodeled, but not impressed”
The hotel rooms were remodeled. You could see were the trim around the window had been replaced....along with a big draft. The pool was closed during our stay. The parking by valet only - the city parking structure was full. And if you bring your kids, you no longer can rent movies. Overall, I didn't think it was worth the money.
