Very clean!!!Posted Jun 7, 2015
Our stay was a last minute decision, we called the hotel directly they said it was sold out, but then we went onto Expedia and booked it easily. Reservation showed at desk in about five minutes. Great stay.

Medieval History CongressPosted May 23, 2015
Pros: The free laundry facilities.
We stayed here for four nights during the recent Medieval History Congress at WMU. The hotel is perfectly adequate. It is not fancy but it is clean. The staff are friendly. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast is an added bonus and, although it does not provide a lot of choice, was fine. As we had already been in the USA for a week before we arrived in Kalamazoo, the free laundry was a much appreciated bonus.

Great staff, nice facilities, decent breakfast!Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: Clean, pleasant rooms, great staff.
Cons: You could restore the nice egg-mcmuffin breakfasts??
Location: Yearly Medieval Conference at WMU
The staff at Microtel was extremely friendly and helpful, and very engaging with the guests. The room was nicely maintained, with everything we'd need for our 5 day stay there. The bed was an excellent quality mattress, very comfortable. The breakfast was very nice, although I kind of miss the egg and cheese on English muffin we had on previous visits- it was replaced by a sausage on a bun, and I'm vegetarian..... oh well, it was still a very enjoyable part of the stay. Thanks so much!

Great place to stayPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: Exceptionally clean!
Cons: Improving the sound barrier between the lower units ceiling and upper units floor.
I did love this hotel except for a couple of small things. The walls seem pretty good at blocking noise but the floors not so much. You can hear people walking around and when the toilet or shower is used (water running etc) above your room. The breakfast was nice. There were the typical bagels, muffins, toast, cereal, as well as the make your own waffle station. The previously frozen sausage biscuit mini sandwich (Jimmy Deans?) that come sealed from the factory till you open and heat them in the microwave were surprisingly pretty good too. It would have been nice though to have some fresh scrambled eggs or bacon available but overall not a bad continental breakfast. The staff was very nice and answered any questions we had. The room was probably the cleanest Ive stayed in in quite awhile and Ive stayed in some nice 4 and 5 starred hotels many times. This units room air conditioning worked really well. We were comfy all night. Overall a good experience and I would stay here again.

Off the Freeway and CleanPosted Apr 30, 2015
Pros: The location
Cons: Rooms are little small
Location: Universities , shopping restaurants easy access to freeways
This hotel is in the middle from everything. Not far from Western Michigan Ubiversity, the Airport and Shopping. Right next to the freeway with easy access to Detroit, Chicago, Grand Rapids and Three Rivers
