Calm quite

Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: The price was reasonable and the area was nice. The breakfast was pretty good also.
Cons: Hard to say with just a one day stay.
Location: The area was nice. A restaurant next door and other near by. More eating and shopping within 10 miles.
Our stay at Microtel was nice. We slept through the night with very little racket. You could hear the traffic in the hallway with people going to breakfast, but not to bad. We have stayed at Microtel a couple of different times and the stay has always been pretty good. I would recommend Microtel for a place to stay.

This hote is fine if you just need a place to lay

Posted Mar 30, 2015
Pros: Close to our friends home. Rate was OK.
Cons: See previous comments
Location: Not too far from major shopping and several restaurants.
We stayed at the Microtel Inn for one night so we could visit friends nearby. The room itself was clean but the lighting is poor and not placed well. No lamps. Only built-in fluorescent lighting, most of which a was strip lighting over the beds. Somewhat uncomfortable. The window wall heat unit worked and the blower was not annoying as can be found in some rooms. The bathroom was clean and updated. The shower was OK but had a water saver head that wasn't great. The bed was OK but the pillows were very full and bulky. Pillows were not comfortable at all either to me or my wife. If you stay there, bring your own pillow. The continental breakfast was fair. Nothing to brag about. There was a waffle maker and frozen sausage biscuits to microwave. Other normal stuff, ie., cereal, toast, muffins, bagels. No fruit.

Suited our purposes nicely.

Cons: The heat vent was a little loud and with it going on and off all night was a little disturbing to a solid night's sleep.
Location: We came for an audition at WMU so it was a convenient location for that.
The attendant at the front desk was warm and welcoming. The room was especially clean which we appreciated. The breakfast had fresh fruit which is always a plus and many good breakfast options. It was nice to be able to control the heat vent as well with a wall thermostat. All in all a pleasant place to stay.

Nice hotel; get second floor.

Posted Mar 9, 2015
Nice new hotel. Pleasant entry with coffee and hot water for tea, although the hot water was empty when I tried it. the staff was very friendly. The cleaning staff did a nice job and even left a nice.note. One suggestion : get a room on the 2nd floor. In my first floor room near the lobby I could hear a lot of voices. Also I could hear noises of rushing water from second floor .

quality stay

Front desk staff was very friendly and hotel was clean and comfortable. Parking was on the wrong side of the building for us, but only minor inconvenience. A little more than I wanted to spend. Quality stay!

Dustin is awesome

Posted Feb 11, 2015 on Hotels.com
The front desk concierge Dustin was super friendly and was a huge help finding us a cab for 8 and also finding us a place to go eat and drink! He definitely went above and beyond just to make sure we had a good time that night. The room was nice for the rate and good for an overnight stay. The next morning we were late for breakfast and the lady cleaning up the breakfast station was a little rude to me and my girlfriend when we asked if we could get a yogurt before she locked up the fridge. Sorry for the inconvenience I guess.. Anyways highly recommended if you are visiting Kalamazoo for skiing or a night.
