completely satisfactory

A completely suitable hotel in Kamloops. The only peculiar thing is that the free continental breakfast is served at Hotel 540, their companion hotel a block away, which can be annoying if one does not realize it and is in a hurry.

There is better for less !!!!!!

Pros: The reception area always had hot coffee or cold drink friendly front staff
Cons: Dirty hot tub and pool.
Arrived very pleasant ladies greeted me. received breakfast voucher's, you actually have to walk 1.5 blocks to use them, (by the way the breakfast I purchased was great). Went to my room a little run down looking, And there is no view from any place. Then the noise in adjoining room began. You could actually hear the person using the toilet. Go to make a drink dirty glasses. The next morning at 5 am could hear their conversation about their trip. VERY NOISEY HOTEL. The next morning go to hot tub and pool. I really thought hard about getting into a slim ring around it and green allege in pool. I went to the desk to asked when it would be cleaned was told "oh we will get to it. They did and it took 1 hour before they closed before we could use it. NOT MAINTAINED AT ALL. I have stayed at better for less.

No Desk

Pros: Location
Cons: No work desk
Location: easy to find
There was no desk in my room for work - just a small round table and a cheap chair that was too low for working on a laptop.

Welcoming
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: Service
Cons: Breakfast
Location: Convenient
Great and welcoming staff. Clean and comfortable beds. Outdated furniture. Breakfast: white/brown basic bread, tea, coffee, horrible Costco muffins and pastries (unfortunately the norm for continental), bananas and oranges, yogurt, juice and that's it. Great place for kids. The level of service more than made up for anything else, for the price good value.

Thin walls

Hotel staff very friendly. Nice location downtown and close to the many venues. My second stay at the hotel, first stay I was woken up from children playing hockey on my door. Second stay thought I was safe from hockey teams as it was a Tuesday night and woken up from the sounds of door closing that sounded like something large had fallen in the other rooms. Would stay again as long as I did not want to sleep in.

Room
Posted Jan 13, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Small, very bad wireless
Location: Right down town
I booked and paid for the Exc King suite but was down graded to a king when I arrived due to construction. I was given a $15 gift cart as compensation. I do not know the cost difference and if I paid way to much for that room but since I booked only a couple days in advance, they should have been aware the room was not available. It felt like a bait and switch tactic.

Satisfied

Pros: Location was perfect and the upgrades were nice. Considering how close the trains were you would hardly notice them.
Cons: Was disappointed in the continental breakfast.
They were in the midst of upgrading the hotel. We got one of the upgraded rooms and we were content with the room. It was obviously an older hotel but the upgrades made it comfortable and welcoming.

Location: Good location for curling club access
They claim they are renovating, but i didnt see any improvements. Outdated decor. Thin walls.
