Cheap, no frills, clean sheets and bathroom

Posted Jan 8, 2015
Good for a quick stay. Convenient and in short walking distance to 2 shopping centers. Backs up to Parker School. Seems safe enough but unfortunately, there were some incidences with the live-ins that required visits from the police. Parking lot dark very dark at night, so a little scary if you're alone.

Would only ever stay one night

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: Close to Waip'io valley
Cons: Bathroom, entrance, reception
This is an okay stopover point, but definitely wouldn't stay any longer. Room was clean but bathroom and entrance really shabby, just a little bit of work would make all the difference. Expedia site said laundry facility onsite, but there is none, had to go to local laundrette.

Interesting place to stay

Posted Oct 9, 2014
Pros: Area was near the Parker Ranch Center in the center of the area. Nice large room w/ comfortable clean bed. Nice linens. Price was modest..
Cons: List is long. First of all would be upgrade vinyl in entry and bath. Clean fan. Train Lobby desk staff. Coffee maker in each room. Replace drapery.
Location: It is in center of town. Parker Ranch Headquarter;s Museum, Stable Museum. Many small interesting shops and places to eat. Mauna kea Volcano
This hotel has good potential. Just a little time and effort could upgrade this hotel to good. In fact I plan to write to the owners.... w/suggestions. When I opened the door to the Lobby to register, I almost walked back out and left! It was just not appealing. Ugly, cluttered. Some of the staff just not trained at all. When asked what was there to see, she responded, 'nothing here, I've lived here all my life.'' There was much to see as we learned. Again upon first opening the door to our room.... I thot oh no. Just no appeal, rather old ugly vinyl floor in sort of entry way. then I saw the room. Very large room, drapes were closed and lining was ripped. But lovely mountainside view w/cows grazing. Very high pitched ceiling w/knotty pine. No a/c only a 'dirty' fan. This was during a heat wave. If cool, wouldn't have mentioned no a/c . Had refrig, but no micro nor coffee maker in room... Coffee every morn free in lobby. The negatives are the reason for the lower rate.

Nicht einladend

Posted Sep 9, 2014

Posted Aug 15, 2014
Pros:

Posted Aug 10, 2014

Bon rapport qualité prix

Posted Jul 28, 2014

This was a disappointment. Room was dingy. Internet a high added expense (went to McDonalds and used the WiFi there.)

This is a very low end lodge

Posted Jun 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
We got upgraded to a "superior room" and I would really like to have seen a substandard room, because I can't imagine what it could possibly have been like. There were no hangars in our closet, the pillows were foam rubber, the sheets had been washed about 500 times beyond their natural life, and the shower head hit me in the sternum. I would not stay there again.

Simple and straighforward

Posted Jun 25, 2014
Pros: Location. Clean. Inexpensive.
Cons: A little musty, but just need to open the windows
Location: In Kamuela so everything is near.Especially Merrimans!
I went to Kamuela for a business supper meeting so just needed a place to sleep overnight. Nice restaurant next door. Been here before, about 15 years ago. Very simple, but clean, bug free, well kept. Staff very pleasant and easy to check in/out. Safe area, quiet, good location in the middle of Kamuela. Didnt want to spend $500/nite at the fancy hotels down the road(also,20 miles away).
