“Close to Natl. parks”

I enjoyed our stay at the Best Western. It was centrally located. My only disappointment was that the pool was covered and closed for the season. Fortunately, we asked a neighboring hotel if we could use their facilities and they agreed! Overall, things worked out perfectly! We were also thankful for the spacious room they put us in with access to the parking lot. The fridge was a plus and saved us on dining out costs.

Area recommendations
It's near to Bryce, Zion, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We saw all three in three days! Going during the off season, we had most of the trails to ourselves.
When to go
We went during the off season. The road to the North Rim was questionable because it had snowed the week prior but when we called into the closest town, they told us the roads were clear. Some of the trails were blocked with snow but we only wanted to check out the North Rim anyway. It was too cold for hiking.

“It looked tired and worn”

The hotel carpeting and appointments looked as if no one had upgraded the space in a long time. It was a flight and a half of stairs to get to our second-floor room, and there was no elevator. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were as dry as sawdust but the coffee was good. We returned to Kanab a few days later and stayed in a much nicer place.

“OK for a night”

Two story, and we were on the top floor....which was probably a blessing as the floor squeaked. Hope it was not bad for the people under us!!!!

Area recommendations

“Fair priced hotel accomdation in quaint Kanab”

We enjoyed our stay in Kanab, Utah with its proximity to the Grand Canyon, and Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks. Kanab has some interesting historic sites and we enjoyed a wonderful Symphony performance at a local park.

Area recommendations
Highly recommend visits to the National Parks in the area.

“No hot water”

When you have to take a cold shower in the morning it kinda ruins any of the good qualities. Also being older the door opens to the outside and there was a large space between the door and threshold which let in some bugs and ants.

“Good place to sleep after hiking in National Parks”

The full breakfast was very convenient and good. The room was big enough for the four of us. The only problem was that both ice machines were out of order when we arrived, both were fixed before we left.

Must see
Bryce, Zion, Cedar Breaks, and North Rim
Dining
Restaurant next door seemed too nice for for us. We ate in both Mexican restaurants, Nedras Too and Escobars.

“Everything but the service”

There was only one person working the front desk and it took quite a while to get checked in. She was giving people just showing up the same special expedia price I was getting. Every time we left our room I would have to go back to the front desk because the room key card would stop working. When we asked for pool towels we were told she would go look; however, she never came back. It was close to midnight when the gal from the front desk knocked on our door asking who I was. Next time I will stay at different hotel.
