“Nice reasonably priced hotel”
If you are looking to stay in suburbia (South Overland Park --not my favorite part of the KC area -- the County Club Plaza area is much better and is more urban) this is a fine hotel for the price. It is modern in design, which makes it a little cheap looking in some respects (kind of like a fancy dorm room), but it is stylish, clean, comfortable, with nice beds. Staff is nice, rooms have really nice walk-in shower (though I am not crazy about the sink outside of the toilet/shower area). Good TV, and the area, while suburban, has a really nice restaurant next door (did not try the restaurant in the hotel itself, a sort of sushi place I think). I stayed there a couple of times before and there was a lot of partying in the hotel bar area but I was never bothered by noise in the room. The pool is great -- long and clean and you can swim real laps. Gym is adequate, too. For the price, I like this hotel.
“Staff was very rude and the fitted sheet for the bed wouldn't stay on.”
I had booked this Hotel for the first night of our honeymoon, upon getting to the Hotel we walk up to the desk and after telling the Desk lady hello she gave us a look and then walked away. Came back was very rude and gave us a room key and told us the room number. And then the whole night the fitted sheet wouldn't stay on. The room looked a lot on line and upon getting there was a lot smaller then we thought. We were not happy at all with all above all mostly the staff was such a let down.
“Visually appealing, clean and comfortable”
Great shopping and restaurants within walking distance, parking is close and Valet is available. We loved the styling of the hotel...very modern and appealing. We went to dinner at a nearby restaurant, walked back to the hotel and shot a couple rounds of pool in the bar. It was great!
“Nice Hotel”
Hotel was very nice. Very trendy, staff was very nice. Rooms were very clean and bed was very comfortable. One note though, the address says it is in Overland Park, but is actually located in Leawood, Kansas which is next to Overland Park, but gps will take you else where. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel and would plan to stay there again.
“aloft overland park ks”
a motel 6 with taste the a/c in the room was beyond noisy bed was horrible food offering for breakfast was horrible as they did not keep the shelves stocked with the hot food selection MAJOR THUMBS DOWN
“NIce, modern hotel”
I really enjoyed it. The hotel is very modern and has a lot of nice features including a comfortable lounge area, pool table, restaurant and eating area, and bar. The rooms are a little small but so well designed you hardly notice. Rooms have a table that can be used as an office, with multiple plugs for your computer and peripherals, a large screen TV hung on the wall in front of the bed, a closet for hanging clothes and a modern bathroom with lots of glass and marble. There is also a "Media box" where you can plug an mp3 player, computer, or other device into it and play it through the TV. Nice touch. I liked it very much and would recommend it to anyone that enjoys modern decor with some cool electronic features.
“Second time there and just as great!”
This was our second time to stay at the Leawood, KS Aloft. The first time there was almost two years ago. This time we brought a group of 6 friends for a "get-away" weekend. Since I had been the group's coordinator I was hoping that the hotel would still be as nice as it had been on our first visit. We were not disappointed! Everyone was impressed with the hotel and the convenience of its location and amenities. The rooftop deck area was a great place for our group to gather to leave for outings or just enjoy visiting at the end of the day.
“Save your money...Go somewhere else!”
My wife and I wanted a getaway weekend and chose Aloft because of its slick advertising and modern decor. Result: For the higher priced rates they charge, we had a ridiculously hard bed in a room far too small with thin walls and airconditioner system that sounds like a small freight train (nothing wrong with the unit just too small of a room so motor vibration was deafening and had to be on nearly full time) Nice 42' HDTV but couldn't hear it over the AC. NO complementary breakfast items except coffee, but very high priced baggies of broken packages of pastries, etc and convenience store- style wrapped breakfast sandwiches for $5.00 each! Kansas City is full of great hotels with far better overall guest comfort and service.
“will go back”
clean ,good location, not expensive
“Small rooms”
Nice. Clean. Uncomfortable furniture and no drinking glasses or coffee mugs in rooms.
