You get what you pay for if you decide to stay at this place!!! First night… I knew I should have returned to my car and just drive away after pulling up, but fatigue and thunderstorm made me decide to stay. 2nd morning, around 5:15am, awakened by loud shouting and banging by occupants in a nearby room. By 5:55am, hotel security showed up and one of the occupants apparently gathered his things and stormed out. That same evening, from 10pm to about 2 or 3am, constant banging of room doors and yelling or loud talking up and down the long hallway by all sorts. Walls and ceilings are paper thin. If on first floor, you can hear every creek or movement above you. After midnight, could hear food delivery man at a room. Several times I heard someone trying my door knob. I had placed a coffee table up against my door for the 3 nights I was there. Did I mention the large dog barking on and off for over an hour around midnight. I got up on my last morning and quickly gathered my belongings and got the heck up out of there. I’ll now spend the extra $50/$75 more per night to stay at a decent hotel.

Terrible place. Only stayed for about 5 minutes. Upon reaching my room and attempting to settle down, I came across a used needle in my room. This was so unsettling. I’m glad from desk was able to sort out my refund. However, this situation made me feel extremely unsafe and uneasy.

Stayed here for the price, so ya get whatcha pay for basically. Not the cleanest or nicest smelling. Closed shade, brought own supplies (pillow/blanket etc) and used some good smelling stuff to make room nicer. Overall worked out well for my trip honestly (I only go in there to sleep basically, rest of time just out and about and it’s in a very good location)

I usually don’t have any problems staying here. Becky is very pleasant and she helps out a lot , Crystal is very rude and there’s another older lady who’s very rude also. And there was one time the cleaning staff did not change my sheets out just made my bed back up I was not happy about that. And the towels could be a lot cleaner with less stains. Otherwise you get what you pay for abd in my opinion it’s a decent place to stay especially for the price.

The entire property smelled like weed. While checking in, the staff was snotty and seemed annoyed. The rooms were ok in cleanliness, but it had an overlook of dingy.

I enjoyed my one night stay here. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was clean and well kept. I appreciated that the area wasn’t too noisy at night which allowed me to sleep through the night. There are close food and coffee options and if you’d rather go to a gas station there’s one just a few steps away. I would definitely stay here again.

This place is dirty, the carpets are disgusting, the tv didn’t work, walls are paper thin, heard the couple next door being very intimate until 6 in the morning. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else

The inn was a great place to rest our heads after planet comic con. The beds were comfy and the hall was quiet, it was a great place to stay for the weekend.

It did what it was supposed to! My friend and I just needed a cheaper hotel to sleep in for the night. The ladies at the front desk when checking in and out were both very nice! The room was clean besides a couple small stains on the sheets but there were no bugs and our cars did not get broken into so that was a huge plus for us!

This property at American Inn is a great location. The hotel is close to a lot of places. Especially downtown KCMO. Near places I visit.

When we got the room the sheets and pillows were stained and dirty, I asked the front desk for new ones and they apologized about it and gave me clean sheets and new pillows. The walls are thin so it gets noisy but overall it was fine. The service wasn’t bad at all.

Our shower didn’t work! There was terrible sink coming from inside the over drain hole in sink and my son got glass cut on his foot 2 times! And the room sink of cigarette and was a non smoking room.

The place smelled like weed. Even the non smoking rooms. All kinds of weird people hanging around. I would never stay there again we left after about 1 hour. Took us that long to find another hotel. Brutal

The staff was amazing super friendly and nice. But we did find a few bugs as we were packing to leave. Which is gross and now I have to wash my things at laundry mat and spray my luggage with a bug spray. And they didn't apologize only said that they would have someone spray the room down. Like that's going to help the fact I slept in a room with bugs in it not knowing til after fact. And yes I did look all over the room when I got in there first.

Property needs more/better maintenance. No one bothered me for my 5 night stay. The room was adequate and clean. There was no noticeable freeway/road noise. I knew going in that I was not seeking a five star hotel. It served my purposes very well.
