This property is badly in need of updating and cleaning. Smoky, grimy, dirty. We had to change our initial room because our first room bathroom had not been cleaned and toilet was plugged with excrement. Fortunately, our 2nd room was the cleanest part of the property besides the lobby - but, that's not saying much. We had to stay because we arrived so late - if we would have been able to be there sooner, we would have left and chosen a different hotel. The Overland Park area is very nice - this hotel just isn't.

First off, the room was disgusting. No pillowcases. Poop on the bathtub. Horrible. As if that wasn't bad enough, we were DOUBLE CHARGED. Even worse, that was iver a week ago and WE STILL HAVEN'T BEEN REFUNDED! We were charged be Expedia AND Econolodge. The front desk worker (Aria) was extraordinary rude and was talking down to my girlfriend in an extremely prejudice & condescending way on the phone. After being forced to drive an HOUR BACK TO THE HOTEL to confront Aria, he apologized perfusly and assured we would be refunded. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED - PLEASE FIX OR I WILL BE FORCED TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION.

Econo lodge is a good place for a short stay. The rooms are comfortable and the breakfast is decent. There seemed to be a lot of smoking going on in some of the rooms, and the smell was very heavy on the hallways.

Hallways very stinky dirty carpet even on the rooms , dirty sheets dirty pillows no hair dryer not even Locks on the door only one towel , when I went for breakfast it was nothing there expect some slice bread the food was good

Get room on north end if you have to stay here!
This hotel could use some TLC. Paint was peeling in our room, toilet paper holder was broken, ac was very loud, bed was uncomfortable and windows are single pane...... the frogs in the pond outside our room kept us up most of the night. Wouldn't recommend at the price they are charging!

I was hesitant originally as have not had great experience with Econo Lodge but this was a nice surprise. Keep in mind you’re laying getting it for rather cheap, but it was clean enough and I felt safe (which I don’t always). Plus great fast starts at 6am which is great if you’re just in town for a night.

Fine if your standards are low
The common areas smelled heavily of smoke. The location was convenient for us and felt more or less safe. Overall, the room wasn't very clean, but the bedding was fine. The AC worked well, but was very loud. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, but okay. I could hear lots of bumping around and slamming well into the night and early in the morning. Service wasn't outstanding, but they were nice enough. Pet fee was more than listed when I booked, but I went through a host site, so they may have just had the wrong information.

So so satisfied
We were a little concerned when we saw the parking and lobby. The lobby smelled of cigarette smoke and the buffet area was so smell! But once we saw the room we were impressed.. clean and fresh smelling! But… there was no hot water in the shower only the sink! The AC was the best!

Nice Room for Basic Price
The room in this hotel was nice, not overly spacious but did include a refrigerator and microwave but no coffee maker. A large ice maker was in the lobby and when I tried to get ice in the evening and was not successful, the employee at the front desk said it was "not working, I guess." When I asked the employee at the front desk the morning a simple question, she did not have the answer and said she would let me know, which she did not. Breakfast did have make-your-own waffles, which was nice to have something warm to start the day.

Economic, no frills
My room hadn't been swept when I arrived. There was hair on the floor. The walls needed to be wiped down. The bed had new clean sheets and it was comfy to sleep in. Continental breakfast was trail mix, crunchy granola bar, and strudel in a paper bag. It was a good price. It's fine for someone who just needs an inexpensive place to stay for the night.

Out dated, bed was terrible, sink sprayed water everywhere. The staff was pleasant and it did have hot water so it worked for a quick night, but would not stay again.
