“Perfect!”
Nice decor, our room was quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and it was located in a beautiful part of Kansas City. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Highly recommend it.
“Awesome staff, quick shuttle, great time”
This is a typical Embassy Suites location with one big exception - the staff at this hotel is amazing. Everyone, from the front desk attendants to the folks bussing tables at the breakfast, was very pleasant, happy, accommodating, and even personable. They all took time to speak directly with us, including our small children, and made us feel very welcome. The shuttle driver was great, the housekeeping staff was nice, and in general, we felt welcome and at home thanks to all the hard work and smiles offered by the Embassy Suites staff. Accommodations were typical of the Embassy Suites. This is an obviously older location, and the bathroom showed it. Much-needed caulking on all surfaces in the bath area. Everything else was decent, though. The pool is a bit funky, a grotto style setup with two levels, and quite a bit of scum on the tile at water level. I've been in dirtier hotel pools, though, but still, the Embassy Suites should shut down the pool for a couple hours and do a good powerwashing. Breakfast was good, although long lines were annoying. Soooo many people, and they only staffed one omelet chef. It took 20 minutes just to place an omelet order. The same was true during the managers reception at night, but hey - with free drinks flowing, who can complain? I'll definitely be back. Family-friendly, easy shuttle service, within walking distance of the plaza, and an excellent staff. This should be a 4 rating at least.
“Comfortable suites in a classy seasoned hotel”
Second trip to this hotel. Despite the hotel being more than 20 years old, it has aged well. They continue to offer good service, with clean up-to-date rooms. Great breakfast buffet. Above and beyond on the food service for our meetings.
“Great time”
My girlfriend and I came here to stay the night. Everybody was friendly and very helpful. Thank you so much.
“Really like this hotel!”
Very convenient to many areas of Kansas City. Rooms are spacious, staff is gracious and helpful, many ammenities are offered and their breakfast is the best.
“Great Location”
Close to Westport and to The Plaza
“My Go-To Hotel in KC”
I've stayed at this hotel twice and both times I've enjoyed it immensely. It is an atrium style, all suite hotel that makes you feel like you have your own little apartment while you are travelling. It comes with a full breakfast that is very convenient to get you up and off with your day. It is within easy walking distance to the Plaza and the Nelson Atkins museum. There is a lovely park to walk through on the way. Parking is a very reasonable. Great location, great staff, and very comfortable accomodations!
“Solid Hotel”
Hadn't been to KC or the Embassy Suites for 10 years, was pleased to see that the hotel had been kept up. The service, amenities, location and rates make this an ideal hotel for a weekend getaway. Great breakfast buffet.
“Disappointing for an Embassy Suites”
When we arrived and opened the curtain to look outside, paint chips literally came off the ceiling. Not good when you have an 11 month old who loves to put things in his mouth. We called for a pack n play at around 4:00 as we were leaving for a Royals game and were assured it would be placed in our room. When we returned at 10:00, there was no pack n play for the sleeping baby. When we called to see where it was, there was apparently a language issue because someone brought up four plates. We finally got the pack n play, but there was no sheet for it (we were told, "that's how it comes"). Pretty disgusting, but we finally convinced him to bring a sheet. Also, they charge $10 to park, but there's no guarantee you'll get a space. When we returned, my wife dropped me off so that I could carry our two older children who were asleep in the car up to the room. She then could not find a spot and was told that she would have to park in the "overflow" lot three blocks away and carry our 11 month old back in the dark in an "okay" neighborhood. They looked at her like she was crazy when she asked someone to come with her for the walk. To their credit, though, they did give us free valet when my wife threatened to leave the care in the valet line. And they agreed to refund our hotel charges and give us another free night. And the breakfast was solid, and we all enjoyed the pool. I usually really enjoy Embassy Suites, so we are just chalking it up to a bad night for them.
“Who could ask for more!!!!”
We "returned" to the Embassy Suites to attend our niece’s wedding. Our granddaughter was the flower girl and the hotel location was perfect for her mom’s short drives to the church and rehearsal dinner! This granddaughter turned “8” on the wedding day and our other two children/grandsons came early to have a family birthday party! They swam in the hotel pool (riding in "glass" elevators was better than a carnival ride!) before lunch in the Cattleman’s Grill & Bar. Sarah, the hotel manager, graciously allowed us to have a 3pm checkout on a “Saturday”! We offered to pay for the “extra” privileges (swimming, and three extra hours in the room), we had no extra charges on our bill! My husband’s health condition requires limited heat exposure; the valet service was excellent – maximum wait, two to three minutes in the air-conditioned entry; and when the vehicle arrived for us, the A/C was already blowing cool air! My daughter’s cell phone went dead and while chatting with the valet as she was leaving to buy one, he suggested a look through the abandoned items in their lost ‘n found box – amazingly, they found one that worked! As expected, Embassy Suites was "again" the ideal hotel for us! A Great Value considering all you get for being Centrally Located to Downtown KC, Westport and the Plaza – Excellent Breakfast Smorgasbord – on the house Cocktail Hour – Superior “Personal” Service – large Clean rooms – and, glass elevators that thrill the kiddos! What more could a person desire?
