The check in chicken process was quick and easy. Found our room very comfortable and nicely furnished. The bed was a bit hard for my taste but I slept OK. The grab and go breakfast was minimal, but we were meeting friends for breakfast somewhere else. The checkout process was quick and painless. All of the employees we dealt with were very friendly and professional.

Great stay for work trip.
Check in was easy, even though it was late night the ladies at the front desk were helpful and kind. Room was clean and towels were fluffy and nice. No dishes, but they can be arranged for use in room if you need them. Full size fridge. Comfortable bed.

Extended Stay America Suites Kansas City Overland
This is a hotel with a great location. The staff is great and friendly. I-435 is around the corner and you can pretty much get anywhere in KC in less than 30 minutes. Oak Park Mall is less than 10 minutes driving. Legends Mall is 15-20 minutes driving. The breakfast lounge is tiny and would be better if it offered more options for breakfast. The room has a small kitchen and sink with an average size fridge where you can put your food if you plan on preparing your own meals. There is plenty of places to visit....such as KC Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Hockey, etc. We reserved this hotel for my daughter's soccer tournament at Scheels Soccer Complex. The price for the hotel is very affordable and convenient.

Check in was okay however when I went back for an extra key Chris was on her phone and after 5 mins I finally spoke up and asked for some help. She seemed bothered, threw her phone down, and asked what my name was. When I got to the room, the room was not clean and smelled like cigarettes. The shower did not work properly nor did the TV (no signal). To make it even better, there was music/yelling all night so no one was able to sleep. Tried looking elsewhere but due to soccer tournaments all over town, nothing was available.

This was a Sh__ Hole! Don't stay here! The room smelled like Dog P__! The floors were filthy. There was no cups in the room, no hangers, no coffee maker and it cost 2 dollars for bottle of water...if the machine doesn't take your money! Which forget about getting your money back. The day shift clerk was a total A__ Hole! I had to beg for 2 glasses. The hotel doesn't own the vending machine, so they have NO control over the machine. There was 7 lights in the king size room and only 3 worked! So it was dark, smelly and extremely disappointing to have to stay the night there. It was right across the street from the hospital, where my husband was having surgery. Drive a few next minutes down the road! And save yourself the awful experience I will never stay in am American Extended Stay hotel, ever again!! The only plus for this hotel was the was comfortably.

Very dissapointed
We were so disappointing to find such a run down hotel in the middle of Overland Park. There were stains on the carpeting and appliances. The counter is de-laminating. The light in the bathroom hasn't been cleaned in a long time. Just over all dirty with bent up appliances. The elevator and hallway leading to our room (342) was filthy. I understand that they don't provide room service for short stays but they should be vacuuming and cleaning the rest of the place.

Our favorite hotel to stay at when we travel in this area! Love the convenience of a full kitchen. Super clean rooms and building. Feel super safe there- the outside entrances close at 11pm. You cave to call for entrance after that, an extra layer of security!

Would not stay here again.
They weren’t not accommodating for any changes. I understand that they don’t have to do anything, but they weren’t willing to even listen or check into situations. We had a nonsmoking room and it smelled like smoke. Like they had just bombed to cover the smell. Not just our room but the halls, walls, and floor was so dirty, unkempt. It was a yucky feeling. The bedding was that wet, like they were trying to dry in the room with the air conditioning. I’m so thankful it was just my husband and I and we didn’t bring our children. It was just uncomfortable and we were only there for one night! I wouldn’t recommend.

Bed was hard. Could. Ot recliner to recline. No dish ware in room. Needed deposit for coffee maker. Roach in bathroom, drawers in dresser did not stay closed. Went to desk to get dish ware, no one was there. Could not leave trash in room, had to place in “trash room”. Morning of departure we went outside our room, hallway stunk (our room across from trash room). Opened the door and trash was all over the floor and we gagged on the Stench.

It was a last minute reservation and they were able to accommodate us on the fly. Beautiful room. We also had my husband's support dog and they were more than accommodating. Will definitely stay again.
