“Nice place and good location. Very clean garage and all things worked well.”
Simone at the lounge was a very nice and knowledgeable employee. She represented well the HI chain.
“Good Value”
Location of hotel was perfect; underground garage parking was excellent - room was nice, but tv was extremely outdated & hummed; rather noisy in hallways also; for value, this was still a good place to stay
“Great location!”
Small room great location
“Much better than expected”
As a professional traveler I think this hotel gets a "bum wrap". I was attending a conference at the hotel next door but could not get a room. I chose this hotel for proximity reasons, ignoring the rating. I used the bar, restaurant and, of course, a room with two beds. I asked for a quiet room and got it. I had no complaints at all and I am a bit picky. This was very good value for the money. Room included free secure and covered parking and internet.
“PERFECT! GREAT VALUE, QUITE, CLEAN!!!”
THANKS! OUR STAY WAS PERFECT....
“Looking for a quick get-a-way . . . got a smack in the face!”
Stayed with friends for a kids-free night out. Rude waitress at hotel bar would not serve my friend because we had already enjoyed adult beverages earlier that day-did I mention we were trying to a get in some relaxation from the normal run&gun of family life. We were not being loud or abnoxious-the waitress pointed out my friend before we even sat down and said I will not serve her! Then she continued to stare daggers at us and talk about us to other patrons. Unbelieveable-trying to have a responsible get-a-way and to deal with such attitude is completely unacceptable. After that we spent our money elsewhere! Much better customer service at other local hotels like Hyatt, Westin, and the Marriot.
“some rough spots”
We have been regular guests at this hotel for many years. This visit was the first time we have been less than satisfied. 1. When we returned to the hotel at 10:15 PM there was no space in the parking garage. 2. When we stopped at the bar at 10:20 the bartender was extremely surly and trying to close (despite a lively crowd and despite the fact that it was well before the posted 11:00 closing time). We paid $xx for two drinks in plastic cups (one containing small fly!) and were encouraged to take them to our room. 3. When we arrived at our room it had not been made up. Nevertheless the room was comfortable, the front desk pleasant and accommodating, and the restaurant staff at breakfast as always truly a joy. Not sure if we will be going back, not sure if we can recommend it despite many fine prior experiences. We may go back only because of the location and the breakfast staff.
“Great visit”
Check-in on Thursday evening was a breeze. Room was just as expected - two queen size beds with more than enough pillows for the four of us. The only complaint was the limited parking. We got one of the very last spots in the parking garage on Thursday evening. Friday evening we got back to the hotel around 10:30pm after the Royals game and had to park out back by the dumpster because there were literally no spots left. Saturday we used the shuttle service to go to dinner at the Plaza and it was great. Kids enjoyed the pool. The hotel seemed to be booked to capacity on Friday and Saturday night but we were on the first floor and it was SO quiet. No loud neighbors above and not a peep from the hallways after 11pm. We took advantage of three of the Expedia offers that came with this reservation - buy 2, get 1 free at Coco Key; buy 1, get 1 free at the National WWI Museum and the Royals 4-pack ticket deal. Thank you Expedia.
“Great location, horrible parking”
This hotel is in very close proximity to the Country Club Plaza, within comfortable walking distance. However, parking is terrible. When I arrived at the hotel, the minimal check-in spaces were all taken, so I had to drive down into the parking garages to find a space. Spaces were extremely tight and very difficult to find. Once in the hotel, I had to go all the way back down to put a parking pass in my car. I would like to see them try to tow a car in the cramped space of that garage. Decent hotel, but parking a big issue.
“Had a great time!”
Took our daughters to Kansas City for a summer vacation and we had a great time. We were comfortable driving in the city and hotel parking was a breeze. The room was spacious and clean. The pool was beautiful. And the all staff we encountered were helpful and friendly.
