Dissapointing. Not a 4 star hotel. At best 2Posted Jul 1, 2015
Very small and uncomfortable bathroom. Charged for parking even though it was VIP. It was supposed to be free. Running water from faucet was not flowing. Looked like they were saving water.

Last minute deal! Paid for it in quality...Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The inside is beautiful and it's a GREAT location
Cons: Plumbing and better advertising of that specific room. I didn't mind that it was small, but now I feel like we were duped.
Location: Power and Light District is right down the street!
We stayed in a room on the 17th floor. Such a great location, close to power and light. When we got to our room it was SUPER tiny, (we didn't care because we weren't going to hang out in our room) but if you are expecting a fancy room, ours hardly fit the bed (which was NOT a queen size as listed in our deal) Anyway small room aside here were problems that are UNEXCUSEABLE in my mind. 1. Our plumbing was broken! 2. Our toilet didn't flush 3. sink did not drain, not even a drop. 4. Bathtub didn't drain 5. We went to the bar at 12:45 for a nightcap and we were told to leave since they already said last call. BEAUTIFUL inside, room was not fancy or even liveable for more than one quick night stay.

Friendly Staff!Posted Jun 27, 2015
Pros: We were given a choice of an upper- or lower-level room Comfortable rooms
Cons: Some characteristics of the hotel seemed dated. We paid for parking in the garage. There was no pool.
Location: Power and Light District Convention Center
We stayed one night in this hotel and we immediately had a great impression because of the friendly staff. More than just going through the motions, the front desk person was conversational and helpful. Our room was not huge but comfortable and had all the necessities. The location of the hotel was perfect for our purposes- we did not have to use the car once we arrived because food and the convention center where our event was being held was all within walking distance. My only small gripe was that we paid for parking on our way out of the parking garage. We didn't think to ask if they gave vouchers for hotel guests and when checking in they only asked if we valeted. Obviously I didn't think it was problem enough to stop back in and ask.

Mould through the room, but the ataff were greatPosted Jun 21, 2015
Our room had mould through it all over the cieling. The tap water was deep white. When we told the staff, the service was fantastic. Just seems like the cleaners pay no attention to the cleanliness of the room. The levels of dust was horrible as well.

Not with full pricePosted Jun 21, 2015
The stay was fine, nothing went horribly wrong. The valet is $24 which is annoying. The "king" room certainly did not have a king bed. The TV is in a weird place. The hotel is an old building, which means small, slow elevators. It took 10+ minutes to catch the elevator so we could leave. I believe only 1 was working. The bathrooms are small. Like I said, overall the stay was fine, but for regular price of $240+, not worth it.

Great hotel in the downtown section of Kansas CityPosted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: Everything about this hotel was great. Scott the van driver was the best driver with knowledge of the city and things to do in the city.
Location: The location of being downtown was great.
My first time at this hotel, but it was a great experience. The staff and Scott the van driver were some of the best that I have met in all of my years of traveling.

Best Hotel experience ever!Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: I loved the Art Deco. Everywhere you turn is another beautiful surprise as if you were reliving the era. Also, the amenities were fabulous!
Cons: Nothing I can even think of!
Location: We saw a play at the Kaufman, an outstanding and beautiful building. Went to City Market and walked around downtown feeling very safe.
Hotel Phillips is a beautiful way to experience Art Deco at it's finest! Having said that, the accommodations, friendly staff, clean rooms and food all exceeded our expectations. We enjoyed everything and can't wait to come back
