Expensive, but nice

Posted Jul 23, 2014
The KC downtown market was much pricier than I could have guessed. I spent $198/night for a nice (but not _that_ nice) king room. The staff is really nice, especially room service. It's very quiet and within walking distance of everything downtown. There is no airport service--a serious draw-back.

Hotel close to shopping, restaurants, and downtown

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: TV could be easier to use.
Location: Downtown, close to business, banks, good restaurants and convenient.
Very helpful staff and clean room in a wonderful older, but modern building.

Not for the price

Our toilet wouldn't flush ... shower wouldn't drain ... noisy hallways... hot in the room.... soft bed. It was a beautiful hotel but too expensive for the quality.

Just OK

Pros: The staffs
Room is small though we got an upgrade. Only bed is big (which I think only the size of the bed is an upgrade). The room is tiny that we feel it is uncomfortably to move around. Which I didn't expect for the prize that we paid. However, the staffs were nice. They took care of our needs like bringing the pack and play and blanket for the baby, and bringing us refrigerator which we requested.

Convenient & Friendly Hotel

Posted Jul 18, 2014
My husband and I spent one night here on July 16, 2014. We were in town to attend a Paul McCartney concert at the Sprint Center. It is in a convenient location for the Power & Light District and the Sprint Center. We only had to walk a few blocks to the Sprint Center. I had requested a king or queen room. We were given a room with two double beds - so we just used one of the beds! The room was clean and the air conditioning worked well. The shower was good. The room had a coffeemaker and also bottles of water. We had to go to the 5th floor for ice (we were on the 6th floor). All of the staff was very friendly. They suggested eating at The Flying Saucer restaurant, so we did. Great food & beer! We used their valet parking ($22/day), but it was worth not having to look for a place to park downtown.

Needs attention!

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Cleanliness!
Location: Near Power & Light District and Sprint Center downtown.
The location to the Sprint Center was great and the staff was not bad. We had requested in advance and confirmed a king room on the day of arrival. We arrived early in the day and we were told they did not have a king available. We were actually put in a room with a full bed. Not even a queen. The hotel is old and needs renovation but most of the renovation needs could have been ignored if the hotel was clean. The carpets, bathroom, and public areas very ignored and dirty. We returned from the concert at 11:45 pm and both the restaurant and bar were closed and several people were looking for service. Several details in this hotel need attention and it's a shame because it has great potential.

The overall experience was good. The hair dryer in the room was broken and the iron provided was in bad shape and had something melted on it and couldn't use it. The room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff was friendly.
