“Great stay!”

The hotel is nice and clean- prices on dinner/ appitizers were extremely reasonable. Great location- close to the Convention Center. The gym was nice- cardio equipement, free weights, and machine weights too. The room was nice and comfy- and very cute. It was nice to come back and grab the big blanket out of the closet and then grab a glass of wine from the bar- and be able to lounge on the couch to watch the huge big screen TV. I would definetly stay at a Hyatt Place again!

“decent but nothing special”

The room was comfortably big with a sectional sofa and large 42" TV with A/V inputs so you can even hook up your computer if you want. The bathroom was bare bones except it had a granite counter. There was no dresser in the room at all, only some cubby holes under the TV. The neighborhood was completely barron except for some office buildings. Nothing was within walking distance unless you happen to be visiting the office buildings next door. But in spite of all this, my stay was pretty comfortable.

Area recommendations

If you want any nightlife or excitement in your stay at all, you would have to staty in Crown Center, Westport or the Country Club Plaza areas.

Basically you have to get around by car.

“Overall, decent”

When we walked into the hotel, we thought it was decorated very nice and classy. Our rooms were big and spacious. Loved the idea of the sitting area with the king bed. The couch was big and comfortable, could have had another person stay. The downfall was our bathtub drain was clogged, so showered fast. There was also a smell in the bar sink that smelled up the room for some time. The hotel staff was very nice and polite.

“cant wait to get back”

the only BUT - there is very little closet space and having the AC unit next to the bed makes it a bit chilly during the summer season. other than that - great placê to stay.

lots of nice spots around town center plaza, 119th and almost Metcalf (Cheesecake Factory). 135th and Nall/ Roe I believe you find Bonefish and other great places.

“Hope to return”

We were only in KC overnight but enjoyed our stay. Hotel room was well furnished, bed was comfortable and room was quiet. Hotel staff was friendly and courteous. One of the elevators stopped working sunday morning when a lot of people were leaving so there was quite a wait for an elevator but that wasn't the staff's fault and it would not stop me from returning.

Area recommendations

Visited the world famous Kansas City Plaza area. Lots of shopping, restaurants and fountains! KC is also famous for barbeque and tho there are many to choose from, Gates is our favorite. We highly recommend it. Also went to Kansas Motor Speedway and watched a NASCAR race. Lots of fun.

Events and shows

NASCAR race tips: bring a seat cushion and ear plugs. Better yet, rent the ear phones at the track so you can listen to your favorite drivers talk to their crew chief while they are racing.

“Great Stay”

“Comfy beds”

One of two Overland Park KS (Kansas City area) Hyatt Place hotels very closely located to each other. This one is tucked back off the major road, but still easy enough to find. Have stayed at both. Same nice decor/beds/amenities at either one. Spacious rooms.

“Great Stay!”

This was a great hotel. I stayed here with my two children (11 and 8) and my mother-in-law. It was a nice size for us all. The room was very well decorated and clean, and the only "complaints" I would have would be: -there were no wash cloths provided -the lobby had a strong perfume like scent Otherwise, breakfast was good. Room was quiet. Very nice. Would definitely return.
